It was and it wasn't. Closing down the LJ community wasn't a choice. Setting it up here was. And what I'm hearing now is that you think it was the wrong choice. You'd have a better sense of that than I, but it doesn't inspire me with confidence to leap to yet another site I've never heard of.
I'm not crazy about IJ in the sense that it's irritating to have to have a separate account when I use LJ for everything else, but obviously another move won't and can't address that. Other than that I haven't noticed any useability issues, but of course I don't use it for anything else. I only created an account because s_d moved here, and if I created a DW account it would only be because s_d moved there, and I'd only use it for that. I'm not interested in learning a new system. I just like the community despite its move to knockoff sites and adoption of ever more unweildy tagging systems. Sure it means that I don't create new posts anymore because all my image hosting is back at LJ, but at least I can read and comment on the posts of people patient or tech-savvy enough to learn the new workarounds.
