Tim is helping Conner find one of Luthor's labs.

Conner uses his tactile telekinesis to open the door, and realizes that Luthor hasn't been there in a while.

Meanwhile, Luthor tells Brainiac to drop him off in Smallville.

I find it interesting that I didn't find these two remotely shippable in YJ, nor did I see them as being best friends. It was only in Teen Titans that all this "you're my bestest friend" schtick was suddenly brought up by Geof Jones, most probably to paralell the Supes/Bats friendship. It was a hard sell for me, back then.

Who were adorable as puppies in YJ, IMO, were Kon and Cassie, with Kon being a fashion-imparied skirt-chaser jock and Cassie being this awkward frumpy tomboy who had to hide her crush on him for the longest time just so she coud call him out when he was being obnoxious and become his friend. Oh, for the days when Cassie had a real personality!

Also, Secret's crush on Robin was fifteen kinds of adorable. "Robin isn't evil! He. Isn't. Evil." Awww!

Mmm.

TO be honest, I never shipped them while they were in YJ together either. They were both hot (and I grew up with a crush on Tim-as-Robin), but I never saw them *together* really, yeah, until Johns started going to town making their relationship a mirror of Clark and Bruce.

And having said that, Bruce and Clark's friendship really is special -- mostly because Batman has pissed off everyone else in the DCU about three times, but Clark still genuinely likes him -- whereas IIRC people always sort of found Tim amiable and friendly. But still.
