Young!Babs as canon is not a personal favorite, however, because I hate the retcon of Babs into another one of Batman's brood of children/kids that gets to be good cop/bad copped and patronized by Batman and Robin, as in Batgirl Year One versus adult woman who took up crimefighting. All supposedly because Miller forgot her in Batman Year One, but I think he just didn't want to have an older child in the story he wanted to write about the Gordons problems.
I agree that a story with Damien and Talia is quite a different thing. I still say you can't compare a generic Batman story to a specific Wonder Woman story, but very importantly, I haven't found a whole whole Damien and Talia and Batman story I've been able to read to the end yet. Talia and Batman, circa Bronze Age, yes. Some are great! But in recent times, until I run across said story, and I may not, I have to agree about a certain level of quality in writing women in certain Batman stories, certainly:) As I can't stand to read to the end. And Batman doesn't usually come off like anybody I want to continue reading when he's a misogynist. Which, as we've discussed, is a fair amount of time during certain more recent eras. Sadly.
