The guy murdered many innocent people just to get ego-stroked. How the hell is he not evil?

Pixar's villains are usually pretty mild (Sid was only evil if you totally accept the movie's narrative, Randall was your standard office schemer, AUTO was just doing his job, etc.), but Syndrome and then Charles Muntz were really a step up. They were more like the hardcore traditional Disney villains, who killed people and plotted real evil.
