I was going to repost the scans of Chamber vs Omega Red from Generation X #11 since they were requested, but while I was trawling through the scans I decided to pad the post out some. Some, I present to you the combat stylings of Jonothon Starsmore. Not the world's greatest master tactician, but smart enough to realise that when you're a mutant with powers, there's no reason why that can't be combined with hittting-people-with-blunt-objects-fu.
Under the cut, a selection of scans from Generation X #11, #21, #61, Uncanny X-men Annual 2001, Icons: Chamber #3 and New Warriors #9.
First up, the oft mentioned Chamber vs Omega Red battle. After nearly killing Banshee, Omega Red single handedly took out the rest of the students with his death spores when they pursued him. Only Chamber remained immune and alone against the powerful Russian mutant:
Later, Chamber and Howard the Duck team up to raise hell in a bar in LA on Skin's request, who wants them to distract the mysterious Tores. This time round, Jono demonstrates that when intimidation and hitting people don't work, there's always blowing the crap out of people to fall back on:
Then it's Jono vs Juggernaut in an epic battle that lasts all of a page. Despite his raw power, Jono discovers just why they call Juggernaut unstoppable:
Thankfully Banshee taught the kids teamwork, which means they're able to try a different tactic.
Poor old Tom.
Then there's the simple, no holding back approach. What do you do when confronted by The Vanisher's giant, zombie cousin?
Then there's the other tactic, following on from the one used against Omega Red. Powerless? Against a dangerous enemy? There's always a way out.
Yep, braining people with a lamp. It's the way forward. Even if Wolfcub's a harsh critic.
Finally, Jono makes use of his new tech-based sonic powers in battle with the New Warriors. When beating people around the head with blunt objects doesn't work and you no longer have your powers, there's only one way to go.
That's right. Unleash the fairies.
EDIT: I forgot this one, from #2 of BKV's Chamber miniseries.
Win.
