Justice League: Cry For Justice #4

Mikaal convinces Congorilla to stop, saying he realized Tony wouldn't want blood being spilled in his name, and that vengeance isn't justice.

And wasn't Arak a hero? Or am I thinking of someone else?

You're thinking of another Arak.

This Arak was a member of Helix (from Infinity Inc; you can see him in Doop's Mr. Bones posts). But they weren't that bad.

Right, duh.

And now that I KNOW who these characters are they seem even more OOC.

Yeah. Baby Boom, maybe, but not the others.

And, just going from the scans posted here, the defining thing for the Helixers was always loyalty to each other. So them turning on each other like this... it just doesn't compute.

She's evil, ergo there is no lengths she won't go to prove that.

And because Arrow and Lantern are heroes, they get to torture people willy nilly.

Isn't it great how DC has made things so black and white?

Even she was horrified when she thought Carcharo had killed Kritter.

I think they're having Robinson take out the trash here. Getting rid of various remnants of the past 10 years, gearing up for whatever they have planned after BLACKEST NIGHT. Pretty much anything introduced during 52 or Countdown is probably on the chopping block, for instance.

That's the only explanation I can find for this feckless writing, incomprehensible motivations of the characters(seriously, there really is no plan to what Hal or Ray are doing and I can barely figure out just where the hell the Bill plot is going), and general meandering viciousness of the thing. And the dialogue. "We can be JUSTICE!"(sounds like a Japanese t-shirt) "Yeah...JUSTICE!" "This isn't JUSTICE!" And so forth. The Shade scene is the only one that breathes, and that's because it's safe ground--Robinson would never violate his own character, and Shade is now just as much his as Swamp Thing became Alan Moore's.

He does a nice craftsman's job every month with the Superman stuff. Here he sucks. I wonder why. Purty art, I will admit.
