More old Wolverine
From Wolverine #3, seven pages of overwrought, samurai shenanigans.

The story so far: Jessica Drew and her roommate Lindsey McCabe got mixed up in some shady, underworld malarky. Jessica was recruited to transport an unknown package to Madripor. Said package turns out to be the ~Black Blade~ and it possesses her with admirable efficiency. Meanwhile, Wolverine in his Patch guise is investigating ~The Cult~ and its attempts to secure the Black Blade. Meanwhile meanwhile, Silver Samurai is also tracking the blade. Meanwhile meanwhile meanwhile, Jessica's roommate Lindsey, a hyper-competent Claremontian actress, is in Madripor, looking for Jess. I smell a teamup! Things go swimingly until Wolverine is possessed by the Black Blade, kidnaps a now un-possessed Jessica Drew, and hooks up with The Cult. Ok!

So Lindsey and Silver Samurai plan an assault on The Cult's HQ. Interestingly, Lindsey is a sharpshooter, by way of a season on Tour of Duty. Man, she sure is awesomely competent. *cough* Anyway, we begin at The Cult's HQ, where Wolverine, in full culty getup, is preparing to sacrifice Jessica, and enslave her soul for eternity. Silver Samurai has tasked Lindsey with shooting him.

Ready for samurai, cults, hyper-competent women, weird art and rampant Claremontery? Let's go!

Lindsey looks like she'd last less than a second against Tara Chace, the way that she's portrayed here.

Of course Tara is actually an operative, right? Lindsey is just an actress. An actress who, with little trouble, turns her hand to investigation, undercover work, and sharp shooting. It's a bit ridiculous.

Claremont would probably say that she took a stage fighting course once.

hey now, some stage-fighting is no joke. I took classes in stage combat so I could fence in a Shakespearean play, it's hard work and pretty close to actual violence.

But she's playing with Spider-Woman, Silver Samurai and Snikt Bub. I don't think stage fighting can equip you for that.

I weird to see classic Marvel artist like John Buscema doing Wolverine

He was on Wolverine for... the first 14 issues, I think. While I'm not a fan of his pencils in the first arc (the above Black Blade silliness), the next arc, which borrows a lot from crime fiction, is somehow a lot more to my taste.

I love Silver Samurai. It's such a weird, but fun character concept.

Shame that he's disappeared into the comics ether.

He dealt with Viper and Madame Hydra in a recent Secret Soldiers.
