I love the Robot Butler Clark's got there. "Ohh--? I better set two extra places for tea!" Like he secretly doubted his master's whole "For my next trick I shall give birth to MY OWN PARENTS" plan could work at all.

This is Silver Age Superman! He can do ANYTHING!
(If only for one issue.)

This was actually Bronze Age; the issue right before the "Whatever Happened To the Man Of Tomorrow?" story.

Really? Well, THAT puts an interesting spin on things. 'Let's briefly grant one of Clark's fondest desires, so we can DESTROY IT next issue, along with his entire continuity!' Things haven't changed much, eh?

IIRC, as it turned out they weren't really his folks anyway.

*sigh* Of course they weren't. Things REALLY haven't changed.

He'd originally set it for three, since he knew, even if Clark didn't, that Kryptonians are like Tenctonese. He was then polite enough not to correct Superman on his failure.
