I just checked through the issue again and the very next speech panel he remarks that Gar's head is not in the team. Which, it isn't!
I'm of two minds about Jaime actually coming out and stating that it feels like being burned alive -- because it would. On the one hand, Jaime's been surprisingly open in TT of late about how the armour hyperstimulates his nervous system when it activates. On the other, he's been downplaying it in his own title (but that was with Rogers, Sturges did recently drop him from orbit). I think it's not terrible, given how Jaime's "thing" in Teen Titans has been complaining about the scarab hurting him.
I read the scene as "this is something that you should have known if you want to lead us, Cassie knew this, everyone in the team knew this, and because you're focused on Raven you didn't notice this rather obvious thing, or even ask us anything about ourselves. What other thing are you going to miss or not care about?"
