I think it's very touching, too. I liked reading it. Still in the middle of reading the entire War Drums/Games arc, but I really liked this part.
I wonder, too, if he's communicating with Cass in part because she's not a Robin. Like, perhaps, being around another of his sons/Robins would be more than he could deal with right now. (And also, to me, he and Cass have a lot in common with the way(s) they communicate and deal/don't deal with things.) Also, it's interesting to me that apparently, nobody's really talked to her (or to Steph--we learn in War Games) about Jason up to now--even though Tim and Dick have talked with each other about Jason, and it's a really nice moment that Bruce's finally ready to 'introduce' her to Jason.
That he can admit certain things and open up to her and possibly get a little support.
