A human who had no problem hunting mutants and killing them. This is the people this place wanted help from, good to know. Was anyone free game? Would Lorna wake up one day with Campbell running around? The idea of that only made her blood boil, especially since she wouldn’t be able to kill him again if he managed to end up with a coin.
Needing to blow off some steam before she did anything stupid, Lorna headed to the gym since last thing she needed to do was destroy more things in her room. Entering the gym, the quiet was welcoming considering it was a rare one from what she’d seen while being around here. Lorna felt like she should warn Lauren to be careful about this guy; however, the teenager had wanted Lorna to stay away from her. Even if Lorna felt she was being childish, she’d respect her wishes, and keep an eye on if that idiot had the nerve to try anything. She’d risk the consequences if it came down to protecting one of her own from that guy.
Moving further into the gym, Lorna tossed a pocket knife on the ground. Using her abilities, she picked it up, throwing it at the nearest target. This was what she needed right now to work out her anger with some target practice. Or it was until the sound of a door caught Lorna’s attention glancing over her shoulder with a slight curiosity as to who decided to show up at the gym.
Lauren had been having trouble sleeping. Lately, it had more to do with this whole place being weird than it did anything else. From what she could tell, Atlantis would really let anyone come in to fight, but Lauren knew she had no control over that.
She'd headed into the gym early that morning, and the second she saw Lorna, she rolled her eyes.
"Stay, I'll go somewhere else," she said before Lorna could say anything to her she was turning to walk away.
Lauren paused looking at her doing her best not to roll her eyes. "You were here first, pretty sure I can find anywhere else to be in this building, not like it's not a big building." She really didn't care, but Lauren did know she wanted to get away from Lorna, she didn't trust her at all.
The sight of Lauren caused Lorna to roll her eyes. On one hand, she was proud of her, knowing she was probably coming to the gym to work on her abilities without anyone forcing her into it. On the other, Lorna was not in the mood to deal with Lauren right now.
“Do whatever you want, I don’t really care,” and that was only partly true. Lorna hated how she couldn’t turn off her need to protect her kind, especially when they had been in her group. Would make it so much easier if she didn’t worry about Lauren, but she did and nothing Lorna could do about that. Though on what Lauren was talking about right now didn’t fall under the something to worry about, which was why she didn’t care.
Sighing, Lorna threw another knife at the target but stopped it halfway to bring it back into her hand without hitting anything. “Lauren, hold up a second.” Lorna wasn’t moving from her spot, hoping the girl would stop being stubborn long enough to listen without the attitude. “Have you seen that guy Pierce around the network?”
"Okay," Lauren said turning to leave she was almost far enough away when she heard Lorna call after her, she stopped, still in sight and crossed her arms.
"Yeah, and believe it or not, I already know that he's a bad guy and he'll kill mutants blah blah blah, believe it or not, I actually know how to read things and see how people react, like Laura." She said resisting the urge to roll her eyes.
Lorna rolled her eyes at Lauren’s comment, not caring if she noticed or not. If the girl wanted to act like a bit of a brat, then let her. “Do you want a gold star or something for catching on to that? Wasn’t that hard to figure out,” Lorna replied turning her attention back to the knife, pulling it back into her hand and tossing it once again.
Her tone shifted away from the sarcastic tone since Lorna wasn’t in the mood even if Lauren wanted to give her the attitude. “I was only going to say be careful but forget it, not my problem.” Lorna may have said that, but she knew if it came down to protecting one of her kind she’d help them out no matter how the person felt about her. Didn’t mean she had to kill the individual even if people figured it was probably her first thought. If this place sent her home for taking care of a problem, then so be it since it’d only make her shift her focus back on the fight she had to deal with in her own world.
“I don’t want anything from you. I don’t want anything to do with you.” Lauren said very clearly rolling her eyes before shaking her head. Lauren didn’t have anything else to say, turning she left without looking back once.
