Who: Dan and Serena
What: Dan is drunk. And banging on Serena's door.
When: Tonight
Where: Serena's new house.
Warnings: Dan ain't signing no divorce papers. xoxo, Gossip Girl.
Dan was drunk. He had drank way too much bourbon. It happened to be his drink of choice now thanks to Alison. Alison. Ali. He sighed and rolled his neck from where he was sitting in the back of the car. It was a miracle he wasn't vomiting but at the moment he was okay. He was functioning. It was also a miracle that the driver could understand what he said. He had found the address of Serena's new house and he was there the day before. He didn't knock. He just parked outside of it, across the street and he noticed something.
Nate.
Of course.
His eyes narrowed just thinking about it. Of course, in reality, Dan had no reason to judge. He was sleeping with Alison and he felt incredibly guilty about it because there was a time when he loved Serena was everything. Everything he did was for Serena. His life - his dreams - he wanted them to include the blonde but now ... it was like he didn't even know her. But he wanted to. He didn't care. He wasn't giving up. And divorce papers didn't matter to him. She wasn't doing this to him - she wasn't walking out.
And now he was angry again. Shaking his head, he looked out the window, watching the houses that passed, watching the lights that made him a little dizzy. He was so emotionally wound up tight that he could shatter at any second but he was going to see her, going to make his pleas. He couldn't lose her. That was the last thing he wanted. He refused.
When the Uber driver stopped, Dan somehow managed to get out of the car, stumbling. "Shit," he muttered, bringing his hand to his head. The driver pulled off and Dan stood there, in the street looking up at the house that she shared with Nate.
Was Nate fucking her? Touching her? Loving her? God, the idea of it made him sick. Or maybe that was the bourbon. It wasn't new that Nate would have been sharing a bed with Serena but she was married. Didn't that mean anything? Swallowing hard, he looked up at the house, his dark eyes glassy eyed and his breath toxic, smelling like alcohol. Minutes later he was leaning up against her door, listening or maybe resting and then suddenly, he was banging on the door.
"Serena! Open up this door!" He yelled.
