As well as can be expected. And yourself? I'm glad to see that you're looking better now.

The day of rest helped.

[pauses for a long moment, honestly relieved, but… clearly worried about something, too]

I know that this isn't the time, but I was hoping to talk to you about something, If at all possible.

Go ahead. That's sort of why I'm here, anyway.

Would it be easier if I showed it to you? What happened is… complex, in its own way; and it happened on multiple levels. I'm not sure how to put it all into words.

It's usually easier that way.

[Basically, .THIS THREAD.

She hadn't intended to do anything. She hadn't even known what was going on, not really. There had been no puppet strings; merely presence, acknowledgement, curiosity, awe and respect and familiarity on a very basic, instinctive level.

And the regalia—a skeletal creature, eager to rip and rend and tear an bite, frustrated by the weak 'parts' holding it back—had sensed a threat, and lashed out. How dare she touch; she had no right. The chains had snapped, and…

… And Aura had been lucky to be allowed the chance to apologize, to explain that she'd meant no harm or disrespect.

Instead of leaving outright, she decided to stay. Not just because she'd found a good spot, though that was certainly part of it… acknowledgement, acceptance, defiance, her team would have noticed, no wish to escalate, a strange yet measured trust that it would be safe enough…

And it was quiet by the river; calming. Alone, save for the awareness of 'technology' that lingered in the background.]

*absorbing that for a moment, filing away the parts that aren't relevant to the current question*

...abilities can take you like that sometimes. Sounds like you have some sort of artificer's skill.

Artificer?

In the planes I've visited, they're mages who specialize in devices; building, controlling and using them. It could be a useful skill, even though there isn't a lot to use it on here.

That would make sense...

… And if nothing else, I'll have a head start should I ever have to face them in a game.

I wonder how complex a machine has to be before you can affect it...

I'm not sure… As far as just being able to sense them goes, however: the regalia has its own form of sentience; it's louder than anything else I've felt here so far… there are three others others, less complex but of the same basic roots…

[Thinks for a moment] Edward's arm and leg, too, and the hand of the man from Lynx…

[brief pause]

I'd hate to test it on them, even if they were to grant permission.

...Ed might be all right with it, if you're careful and ask permission. I'd be careful around Lynx...especially around Brass. I know he's a construct, but I'm not sure if that lets you affect him or not; better safe than sorry, though.

If you can get information out of them, though...think of it as a tool of diagnosis, if something goes wrong.

[… lololol 'a tool for diagnosis'.]

Perhaps if I spoke with the others, we could arrange to do a task for Ophiuchus… It would take a while, but it could yield a broad spectrum of test subjects on which I could practice.

*yeah, we're thinking the same thing*

That might not be something to rely on; Ophiuchus can't be relied on to assign the right kind of task.

Can you give me an idea of what kind of tasks they might set? Although, I imagine that they vary quite broadly.

Very broadly; it depends pretty heavily on the person and the desired reward. Canis had to go around collecting things like handshakes and hugs from a lot of teams, once; Delphinus was just told to shave a dangerous animal.

[... hm.]

I'll speak with the others about it. I imagine they'd all be quite interested in earning a few personal affects. Or... perhaps a few things to make the dormitory more homelike.
