[Well, not so much PAIN as just...LOVE. SO MUCH LOVE IT IS RIDICULOUS, but he's still convinced it all went okay.]

... [Sighs.] I really don't know why we both had to come.

And I could deal with that. I mean...we saved the universe from nonexistence after reviving her from almost dying, so apparently we do ridiculously dangerous things...

But it...hurt more than I expected, her not remembering me. And the fact she refuses to admit she has amnesia.
