Who: some guy idk
Where: the river near Cepheon
When: Day 196, earrrly morning
What:

[Out at the tailend of the river this morning, there is a man in old-fashioned Orion yellow (though it's pretty dirty at the moment) without a bracer, who was making his way south. Only now he's stopped to stare at the river in a manner that suggest he thinks he'll work out what it is if he looks at it long enough.

Hint: this is not going to happen.]

Surgeon takes penalties if you lose his games. Particularly nasty ones if you throw his games. Mirror does the same, but her penalties tend to be mental rather than physical.

The GM, Flowers, and Horn pit teams against one another and force us to decide whether to save ourselves at the expense of others.

That's twisted.

It's how they are.

...so those are the worst. How are the rest?

The next level down are probably King, Persona, Storyteller, Soldier, Haunted, Lovers...

[Pauses briefly to count on his fingers. :|a]

...and Persona. People die in their games sometimes, but it doesn't seem to be the purpose of the games, and it's not every game.

[Sets the pan on the stove and puts the fish in it. :|b]

So they're just occasionally fatal.

Essentially.

[Let's fry this thing.]

[smells good man]

Right, so... are there any more? Sounds like a lot already.

A few. Waterbearer, Messenger, Beauty, Queen, Gambler, Angel, the Graces, the Twins... Veiled... [Pauses again to think it through. :|a] Huntress, Shadow, the Kid, and the Clockmaker.

They tend to run milder games. Some of them even pretend to have our best interests at heart. Those are all of the judges that run games.

Sounds like there's a hell of a lot of them. Must be a job keeping track of it all.

I make it a point to know them. The sort of games they run, too. If you want to know what kind of thing to expect, you can look in the journal, later.

I keep a list of all the games we've played, to date.

That sounds good. I'll give it a look later.

Good.

[Flips the fish. :|b]

There are two judges that haven't run games, too.
