	I'm surprised sometimes at how many different ways people have to use magic. It's different on every plane, but in my memories, they all use the same basic principles. Not here, though; I've seen everything from drawing on the power of spirits and demons, to words that bend the universe around them. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	With some people, the ritual to cast is the key. For me and some others, it's just will and intent, and drawing mana from the world around me, so words and gestures are just a focus. Can you remember how it felt when you did it? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	...hmmm. That almost sounds similar to the way I draw on mana: gather it from places it collects in the world, focus it with my mind, release it as a spell. You can't sense any places around you that feel like that energy, can you? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	That is pretty strange; once I remembered using a spell, I could cast it here, and that seems to be the way it works for most people. But it probably means when you get the right memory, you'll get it all back, not just in bits and pieces like the rest of us do. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	shakes his head They wouldn't work if I didn't understand them -- I've got a few I'm shaky on, but they're ones I didn't use a lot, or only learned the theory for. I've had some that I don't have the mana available to use, though; with King's seal on this plane and the bracers limiting how much mana I can draw, some of the really big ones are beyond me. 	This plane is warded by King; nothing outside can get in and nothing inside can get out. I used to be able to summon allies -- creatures -- to fight with me, and draw on mana sources from other planes, but not once King enacted his seal. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
