The world as you know it has changed.
Once, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was described as the safest place in the world. How true is that now? The school year is about to begin and the Marauders, along with their fellow seventh years, are about to enter their final year of learning. Instead of worrying about Quidditch, crushes, and NEWT examinations; death, destruction, and daily news of abductions and murders have taken priority in the minds of Britain’s magical youth. Just how safe are they behind the castle walls? What can any of them do to aide the fight?
Outside the walls of the school, a furious battle for power is raging. Death Eaters are on the move and are fighting to create a puritan world under the charge of Lord Voldemort. Only an underground, secret group of witches and wizards named the Order of the Phoenix dare challenge them. Is there any hope of defeating the darkness? Does Dumbledore hold the solution? Is there any truth behind the hushed whisperings concerned seven magical objects that, once brought together, could potentially end the up and coming all-out war?
Only one thing is certain. Nothing is safe.
Origo is a game that incorporates both canon and AU aspects. There are two communities; one focused inside of Hogwarts and another for those outside the castle walls. Students, Order members, and Death Eaters are all welcome!

The last time the ultimate beings known as The Brothers became aware of each other, they collided in a conflict that nearly destroyed their two multiverses. Then, for a time, they became one. When they did so, they combined not only themselves, but the many inhabitants of those multiverses. This created what would from then on be referred to as the "Amalgam" universe, and gave rise to such heroes as Dark Claw, Iron Lantern, and Amazon. It also became the home of villains such as the Green Skull, Catsai, and Dare. But their world existed only briefly, and through the work of two cosmic beings and a man called Access they were once more separated. The time of separation was years for the multiverses, however to the Brothers, it was surprisingly brief.
Then, as if urged by the irresistable hand of fate, the Brothers came together again. This time though, it was different. They came not with anger, but with peace. Armed with the lessons they had learned from their last attempt the Brothers chose to allow their creations to decide for themselves, subconciously and instantaneously, to continue living separately, or return to their lost lives from the forgotten Amalgam Universe. |

Twenty-two years and four months ago (give or take a day), Harry Potter defeated the Dark Lord. In the years leading up to that fateful day, he and his friends had to grow up too quickly and miss out on some that Hogwarts has to offer, so they could focus on more important things, like saving the entire Wizarding World.
Thanks to their heroic actions, the children of Harry, his friends, his enemies, and the people he passed once or twice in the corridors can all go to Hogwarts and grow up on schedule. Without having to sneak out of the Castle to go hunt Horcruxes, the Potters and Weasleys of today (along with the Macmillans, the Smiths, the Whisps, and everybody else) can instead spend their time on more age-appropriate pursuits, like getting pissed out of their minds on contraband firewhiskey.
Posteritas is a game focused on character relationships and development instead of an overarching plot, in which your characters will have a typical Hogwarts experience (if there is such a thing). There will be Quidditch matches, trips to Hogsmeade, and surely some good-old fashioned pranks, but the students in school on September 1, 2022 don't have to worry about Death Eaters, dementors, or the dark mark. The war has been over for seven years. People have built families, started careers, and gotten on with their lives. It hasn't all been easy, and there have been unexpected hurdles in the way, but the generation of kids who stood up against Voldemort have become adults. For better or worse.
But not everyone is happy about the new reign of peace. There is unrest in the shadows, dissent among the Ministry, and a danger that lurks on every full moon. Life can't remain peaceful forever, and you must make a choice: stand by wait, or take another stand.
Life As You Know It is a game that focuses on the lives of Harry Potter's generation, though you are welcome to apply for any of the canon older characters for plot purposes. The game will rely heavily on character interaction, and will have a major arc that the mod will advance from time to time.
Unofficial game play began on August 9th, to give players time to settle into their characters. Official game play will begin on September 23rd, with a full moon and breakout of Azkaban. Until then, players are welcomed and expected to participate in smaller plots designed for character building and interaction. Please send questions to lifemods@gmail.com. |
