New York City boasts nearly 8.5 million people, its key demographics being population density and cultural diversity. From The Bronx to Staten Island and everywhere in between, there exists a bustling world of taxi cab drivers, homeless people, bigshot CEO's, stay-at-home moms, and millions of others in almost any walk of life you can imagine. While the city consists of an astonishingly wide variety of people, they are all united as 'New Yorkers', all calling 'The Capital of the World' their home.

In a city so large that it's impossible to meet every person on your block, the technologies of the 21st Century and those things we like to call 'blogging sites' have really come in handy in further uniting the people of New York. This community of blogs provides a place for New Yorkers to interact with other New Yorkers from any and all parts of the city without having to take a taxi or survive the crowded metro.

But, wait! What about the people of New York who aren't the type to blog or the ones who don't even have access to the internet? Here, at [info]demographics, we welcome any sort of character you might find in The Empire State, and thus we accept those who do their bidding online as well as those who do it in person. To the brokers on Wall Street, to the students at Brooklyn College, to the homeless in shelters all throughout the city, and to all New Yorkers: Welcome.

One day you go to sleep in your room, you trip, turn a corner, or anything really. The next thing you know you are in a new land, a strange land like you have never seen the likes of before. Others are there but no one seems to know where you are or what you are doing there. People are from different times and different lands.

You all have one thing in common, however. None of you have any idea where you are or how you got there. There are similarities between your lands, you all have magic and mages in existance, you all believe in Gods and Godesses... including Trickster Gods, Kyprioth for some and Lakik for the others. Some of you may have reason to believe that the Tricksters are behind this strange new adventure... and you would not be far from the truth.

Welcome to Tricksters' Realm, a multi-era Roleplay game based on Tamora Pierce's books.

Nearside :: City Based - 17 & Up [04 Jan 2010|02:32pm]

Welcome to Nearside, Pennsylvania!

Nearside is a city on the verge of mainstream development, located in Central Pennsylvania next to the Carlton Mountain. Built by a collective community of artists, Nearside is a unique city of locally owned businesses, farmer's markets, and a thriving force of creativity. Solaris Rd. is the most popular section of the city, offering everything from a popular coffee house (a place for local bands, speed dating, karaoke nights, and much more) to a costume shop and a yoga studio to a daycare for Nearside's youngest residents, the city has countless amenities.

Several years ago a university was built and with it, there has been a rapid growth of corporate business and mainstream entertainment but the residents still focus on keeping Nearside's close-knit, small town charm.

*Mod Note: Nearside is a social game, focused on character development and looking for serious writers. You won't find zombies, murders, big-name celebrities, vampires, or people waving around magical wands. Nearside is a game where talented writers have a chance to simply play out various storylines in a relaxed atmosphere. You can either own/work at a shop or just be a loyal fan, the mods are only looking for dedicated writers who are in the mood for a fun game.

Salem Academy - An American Harry Potter game on Inksome [04 Jan 2010|04:04pm]
SALEM ACADEMY
The whole point of magic is that it is inexplicable.

--Margot Fonteyn

The truth of the matter is that magic exists. It's been right under everyone's noses for centuries, and yet it's been kept secret. The Statute of Secrecy had been threatened, possibly compromised, and for the first time ever, Muggles are about to learn of the existence of witches and wizards.
Already groups have formed. Groups bent on revealing wizards to the world. Groups bent on covering everything up and keeping it as quiet as it's been. The school's safety has been compromised once before. What's next for the students of Salem Academy?

GATE WAY PUB
THE PUB THAT CONNECTS ALL WORLDS.

Welcome to the gateway pub, the pub that connects all worlds and is accessible everywhere. All one needs to do is open a door. It doesn't matter which door either, could be your front door, your bathroom door, even the door to your space ship if you have one. Merely step through the door and you'll be at the pub. If you should want to leave you just need to go out the exit and you'll be back in your own world.

Usually.

Mistakes have been known to happen but you can always come back to the pub and try again.

WHY VISIT THE GATEWAY PUB?

There are many reasons to stop by the pub! If you're bored, lonely, looking for advice, looking for someone, looking for a drink, want to play pool, meet new people or simply just want to get away from it all for a while.

The pub is open to many characters, both original and canon. It's a free form community for rpers to simply come and play. There is no application and only a couple of rules. This is a good place for testing out characters, if you're in between games, don't have time for a set game or, even if you are in a game, a place for some fun character interaction.
