Perhaps centuries ago the Ministry of Magic orchestrated a separation of Church and State that excluded the Elders and WhiteLighters from interfering with European witchcraft. Located along a scenic coast line, Coats has everything a student could wish for located right on campus. An engaging curriculum strives for academic excellence, and the sports teams and clubs encourage students to take an active role in the social scene. But, of course, there's no end to the trouble some students manage to create with magic! Coats Academy is a character-driven, OC Harry Potter game set in the USA. It's a boarding school where anything can happen, and almost everything does! A detailed setting sets this game apart from the rest, and frequent Events encourage board-wide interaction, while still allowing players room to create. He introduced himself to me as Svettio. He is, like most of his kind, a pauper, working for handouts and bits of coin. Yet he is unlike the others in that I sense in him a communal flame that burns by the fire of the Muses, and like me, he is driven. I watched him for many hours, painting at his easel like a madman. Svettio wore no shirt, and his hair and chest were flecked with the multi oil colors of his palette. In 2010 global warming began to wreak havoc on earth and its inhabitants, becoming more and more dangerous with every year that passed. Natural disasters became so frequent and so severe that entire cities were leveled and countless lives were lost. To combat the devastation, in 2020 the scientists of the world joined forces to create a solution that ultimately began the slow demise of the entire human race. By 2028 birth rates have dropped to basically nothing. For almost twenty years no children have been born on earth but in 2048 a solution was found and a new law put into place. Every healthy, non-married person between the ages of nineteen and thirty are to be married, whether by choice or by Government selection. The couple will have a one year period at the most after their marriage to conceive. [14 Aug 2009|11:00pm] A Post-DH Hogwarts Based Game On September 1st Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has reopened, only this time with an extra bundle of students. The old class of '98 have been invited back to resit their year with the current NEWTS class. Room is made for them in their former houses and tensions are lifted from Hogwarts for the first time in a long time. Meanwhile, in Europe, Wizarding communities are being crippled by a virus that slowly destroys the ability to perform magic. Emergency procedures are put in place to try and stop it reaching Great Britain but it becomes clear that it has not been successful. A teacher and student are confirmed to have the virus and the Ministry immediately quarantines Hogwarts, placing a ward around the castle and its grounds to stop the virus spreading further. One by one students find themselves losing their ability to perform ever the simplest of spells. But even as they struggle to try and discover a cure, darker forces are beginning to close in on the school... What would you do if you lost your magic? Open early due to popular demand!
