Avalon is a hidden and protected city, named after the mystical island. The people who live there believe themselves to be the descendants of the Atlanteans. They claim that the great Merlin himself created and founded the great city as a haven for humans like him, humans with magical abilities. No one is quite sure where… or even when Avalon is. There is an open sky with grassy hills and two forests around it yet no one has ever come to the city and anyone who has ventured outside of it has found no sign of any other civilization for miles and miles. The only way to get there is through mirrors.
Mages control the elements. Druids can communicate with nature. Shifters can shapeshift into animals. Bards provide entertainment while Rangers keep the city safe. Healers care for their fellow Avalonians while Lorekeepers keep the past written down in books.
Now, though, Avalon is becoming a haven to others who are not human… The Daka’Kri, with their demon-like appearance, seek refuge from those that hunt them down. The angelic Cores watch over humanity in complete silence, unnerving those that know of them. The people of Avalon have banded together with normal humans to form the Guardians, dedicated to protecting the Daka’Kri and the Cores. They fight against the Hunters, an organization determined to kill all the Daka’Kri, Cores, and Avalonians, believing them to be abominations.
As the groups continue to fight, the Lorekeepers desperately search for answers that may help them… answers that explain what the Daka’Kri and Cores truly are, where they came from, and what their purpose is.

Welcome to Boston, Massachusetts! The year is 1880 and the city is beautiful and bustling, dubbed by our friends across the pond as "The Athens of America". We are known for our first-rate architecture, our profitable harbors, and of course our academic and artistic prowess.
Not all is well in Athens, however. A vicious moral watchdog group, the New England Society for the Suppression of Vice, is searching to make an example of its first victims of strict censorship. Its branches have already devastated the lives of hundreds of artists with jail time or worse. The ashes of thousands of books and canvases litter their wake. The phrase "Banned in Boston" is their disciples' battle cry.
What stands between these brazen devils and the decimation of free speech? A fledgling guerilla group founded by art students of the esteemed Grantmore University. They call themselves The Brotherhood of New Athenians, awakened to a world of injustice by one extraordinary art history professor. His position as their messiah is threatened when the Society takes notice of his teachings and begins to close its jaws around him, vowing to see him rot in a jail cell forever.
If the Society was not enough trouble, the Brotherhood is rivaled by an enemy group in England who will do anything to see them fail. They are students of Dartingale College and call themselves the Dartingale Five. Years prior they made waves with a shocking submission to the Grosvenor Gallery, sending tremors through London. They want to be the only ones to receive so much acclaim, and the Brotherhood is beginning to step all over their toes.
With the world against them, will the Brotherhood succeed in their mission to free Boston, save the professor, and go down in history as legends? Or fall to strife and temptation and be forgotten as fools?

When the anomaly that brings forth a blast from Jack's past also screws up the timeline, some of the team get to change the present...one repeated day at a time. With enemies loose and time stopping the world in its tracks can Torchwood and their visitor save the days...all the rest of them? ~*~*~*~*~*~
Set sometime between 'Voyage of the Damned' and 'Partners in Crime' for Doctor Who timeline (as the Doctor does not live a linear timeline.) And about mid-season two of Torchwood. Welcome to The Retreat, a rehabilitation center specializing in Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome for war victims. It is funded by Saint Mungo's hospital and set within the beautiful woodlands of the Kamchatka Peninsula. We proudly boast a well trained staff of nurses and doctors specializing in psychological counseling while, at the same time, providing a healthy and nurturing sense of community and family.
What our pretty brochure won't tell you, however, is that our head doctor is a bit of a bored masochist with a god-complex, magic within The Retreat has been nearly nullified, the grounds are charmed to heighten emotional responses, and there's hidden cameras set up everywhere, even behind the two-way mirrors.
So won't you join us in our pseudo-quest for mental wellness in a post-war world, where even though the Dark Lord is dead, the victims of the second war can't escape the fact that they'll always be someone else's pawn and plaything. |
