The year is 2003. The war has been over for five years and the world is slowly falling back into place for many. Families are growing, people are working, and finally it seems like the peace that was promised when You-Know-Who fell has finally arrived for so many.

But, for some, life just isn't all that they had hoped for.

When Heir Island (or Inishodriscol) was renovated and turned from a small Muggle holiday island to a small wizarding settlement in 2002, no one had really expected for it to attract those who just cannot find their place in the world. Everyone on Heir Island seems to have a secret or, at the very least, a reason to be running from the world. While their occupations and families might be on the mainland, the island is their retreat and the place that they seem to escape from it all. No one is sure why it turned out that way, but misery does love company.

Will these escapists be able to find whatever it is that is missing from their life on Heir Island? Can they truly run away from their ghosts and pasts? Or will they be forced to confront their demons?

Heir Island is a Harry Potter RPG that is set in the year 2003 and follows real time. There is no over-arching war plot, instead focusing on the relationships between the characters and exploring the different outcomes that are possible. Due to this, a great deal of the plot does come from the players but there will be opportunities from the mod for game-wide plot.

Heir Island welcomes all kinds of plot lines, from pure fluff to dark and twisted. This is also an erotic game that encourages mature themes and we welcome all of the S's - ships, slash, smut. Anything goes.

They came at night, men and women in white coats with needles and drugs, chloroform and ether, invading the sanctity of homes. They stepped through portals and no wards or locks could stop them. They kidnapped individuals and took them to an artificial island for the purpose of observing them.

The Heads put their new subjects in rooms in a hotel, turned on their cameras, and settled down to wait. They were engaged in a social experiment, peppering their artificial island with rumors of a way back home, if only people could learn to work together.

But the people weren't simply left to their own devices. The Heads create hazards on a weekly basis to keep the population on their toes and to observe the effects of various changes to the environment. They want to see the formation of bonds of friendship and love, of animosity and hatred, and then test those bonds.

For as long as anyone can remember, the City has always been one of the largest metropolitan centers in the world. It has had its share of glory and decline, but none so great as the age following the founding of OzCorp. Michael Ozma was no man of magic, but he might as well have been, for the technological wonders he wrought.

Today, however, the Gilded Age is long past. OzCorp, now led by Ozma's three daughters, has become corrupt, and the City has fallen from its glory days. Crime and drugs now rule the streets, though some aristocrats continue to live above it all.

Inspired by folk-lore and fairy-tales, Not So Far Away is a unique Role-Playing World that brings characters from fairytale, folklore, and mythology from around the world together into an ever-expanding universe.

The strained balance between the races and their figureheads is beginning to break. Atlantis rises once again and with it three moons. The mythological are called to the mythological: the Vampiric Houses, the Lion's Pride and the other breeds of lycanthropic kingdom, the Angels and their fallen kinsmen, and the --Humans privy to the creatures who cohabit their world-- have begun to journey to the Condemned: Atlantis, the City forsaken.

Terranox is a state of the art university. The first of its kind, it is located in the heart of New York, inside a somewhat magicked area. Considering it was created by the council of Circle Daybreak, there is no doubt magic had a big say in its inception. There are three major towers that are visible to the public of New York. The two biggest were erected by the Harman and Redfern families, with a smaller one to represent the Drache. The bigger towers stretch up to 88 floors, while the smaller is only 50. The campus sprawls out behind these landmarks, and is somewhat the product of magic in order to make it all fit and not seem so conspicuous. Circle Daybreak worked hard to construct this campus, as it was something they felt very passionate about.These members felt there needed to be a place where young minds of every species could learn. They would not only learn to better themselves academically, but become more tolerant and accepting of cultures different than their own. As always, the goal of Daybreak was to promote peace. To create a place like no other that every person could be accepted in. They stripped away the typical Nightworld Rules of secrecy, though most students don't openly follow such lax policy. At Terranox, if you're a human, you're still family.

These lax rules haven't instigated chaos so far, as they have been up and running for years now. Any humans who discover someone's secret are given a choice. They can either accept it and continue with life now that their eyes are truly opened, or they can reject the idea. In this case, their memories are altered and the student is asked to leave the school. No harm, no foul. It's a motto the council lives by, and it's kept them going for the years since Terranox was first built. Things have run smoothly, as no one outside their walls seems to have figured out everything that goes on there. No one's bothered them.....until now.

Recently, things have begun to go awry at Terranox. The normally peaceful school has been plagued by violence. Students are being attacked, and some have even begun to go missing. Despite their advanced security and resources, the council and administration cannot seem to figure out why this is. No one even suspects the bigger picture. No one even considers something more sinister might be afoot. The Nightworld has never been a safe place, but even that doesn't prepare them for what's coming. The Dragons...a species older than time itself almost, are back. Their mission? To rule over the world as they did before; before the witches that comprise Circle Daybreak's council put them to sleep. The last time they roamed freely, no one stood a chance. This time, they intend to bring the world to its knees; starting inside Terranox. Only now, Daybreak is more prepared than even they might know. This time, there might be a fight.
