Musings The essence of our stories has always existed. In the world nearest to ours, there is a population of people, growing yet eternal and immortal, who spring from us - from our imaginations, from the seed of creativity that is the new existence of a definitive fictional character. You won't find replicas there, for the movement between planes is a changing thing, and you'll need to delve deep for the essence of our originals in Musings.
In Seattle, a one-way portal between planes has allowed these beings to filter into societies all over earth, where they live mortal lives and find fulfillment in the power this world offers - however short the time to enjoy it. Rumors in Musings abound, telling of generations making lives here... and the exodus has begun.
Equipped with supernatural abilities that do not exist in our world, the Creations (as they call themselves) find new challenges here. Among the immigrants there are those who wish to use their abilities for power and control of others; those who wish to defend the race they have joined, powerless though humans are; and those who would prefer to live their own lives in this new promised land. |

Life As You Know It RPG |
[02 Aug 2010|03:35pm] |

|
Life As You Know It is a Harry Potter RPG set in 2005. The focus of the game will be character and world building, and once we have a dynamic, rich enviornment we'll add in some game-wide plot. The plot will be both mod and player created and run, and once we have a good foundation going, we'll have an open discussion to see where we go from here. (Some initial ideas are a virus, a rogue werewolf pack or a serial killer. These are not set in stone, and we would not do all of them. It will be up to the players to decide which direction will be most interesting for the game.)
Life As You Know It will be a thread-based game (no linked journals or AIM rp) and will open as soon as we have ten applications. We'll character and world build for about a month, and then start off the game-wide plot after everyone has a good grasp on a character. If you've ever wanted to try a character out before diving into a detailed plot, or have a hand in creating said detailed plot, this is the place for you. We're looking for complex, multi-faceted characters who will add something extra to the game. Please send questions to lifemods@gmail.com. |

EdgeLand - post-apocalyptic roleplay |

Stake a claim and keep it. Choose your battles, your allies and your enemies. Business as usual at the end of the world.
It's October 2010, a year and a half after a global outbreak of a new strain of influenza. The virus mutated. There is almost no one left. A group of survivors found each other and started to rebuild, settling in the Sonoma Valley, the heart of California wine country and one of the richest agricultural areas of America. The problem with prime locations, of course, is that they come at a price, even in a world where money is a thing of the past. * * *EdgeLand is an original character RPG with a post-viral-apocalypse backdrop, set apart from other games by its philosophy on player involvement and collaboration, where every character is pivotal to their own cog in the overall plot. Do you have the ability and imagination to be part of a project where your creative input drives the plot, and the mod's job is to coordinate and interweave your collective ideas into a cohesive story? Then this may be the game for you! edgeland | edgeland_ooc | edgelandprelude philosophy | premise | rules + faq | application | cast | timeline |

He had the best intentions, but what he did may doom us all.
GAME OPENED 21ST JUNE
WITH GOOD INTENT is an alternate universe Harry Potter role-playing game that takes place in the year 1980. We try to have a happy medium between a character driven and a plot driven game. The mod encourages feedback and suggestions from the players for any ideas that they would have for individual characters or game-wide plots. We try to avoid any clique-ish gatherings; in other words, we will do what we can to make certain everyone is happy in game and to make sure no character goes ignored or overlooked by larger plot lines.

Dark Forces are growing stronger by the day and hope is dwindling. The Order of the Phoenix is doing everything within its power to keep Voldemort and his Death Eaters at bay, but they are outnumbered. Many have died so far and the numbers are expected to grow, for there is no end in sight. There is no salvation upon the horizon.
Or is there? A Prophesy has been made by a young Seer, citing that the Dark Lord can be defeated by a young child, born at the fall of the seventh month, to parents who have thrice defied Lord Voldemort. The child will have powers that the Dark Lord knows not, yet neither will live while the other survives. Though the Seer cannot be certain as to who survives, the fate of the wizarding, nevertheless, rests upon the shoulders of this one child.
Apareo is set in 1981 and will span through that fateful Halloween night, when Voldemort arrives at Godric's Hollow with sole intention of killing Harry Potter. Who will succeed and who will die? Will we follow the canon that is already penned or will the books be rewritten? That, dear writer, will be based upon your choices and your character's actions.
The game is set to start 07 August!

Welcome to Avalonis, where superheroes and villains walk the streets and nothing is quite what it seems.
The city of Avalonis was once dubbed the superpowered capital of the world and even today the city is filled with people who can do the most extraordinary things. Some can move things with their mind, others can read them and then there are some who have no powers at all but insist on fighting for justice nonetheless. As when you have a city filled with heroes, villains will follow and now the city is host to some of the most spectacular and epic show downs the world has ever seen.
Beneath the shiny exterior of the city and the side that the tourists come to see in the hope of catching a glimpse of the city's famous heroes and villains is a layer of corruption. The Irish mob and Italian mafia control parts of the city, pushing prostitution and drugs onto the streets of Avalonis. If there's something you crave then there's always a way to get it, no matter how sordid your tastes.
There's a reason why the city needs heroes. Avalonis Police Department is rife with corruption. The internal struggle within the department is probably why they have yet to pay full attention to the recent disappearances of young superpowered individuals, but how long can these disappearances remain unnoticed and who knows more than they're letting on? |

The year is 2023 and Hogwarts’ first year under the reign of its new, tyrannical Headmaster, Tiberius Odgen, has come and gone. Students are free to enjoy their hard-earned summer beyond the reach of their stern faculty and archaic standards of conduct, no longer victims of dictations regarding everything from the volume of their laughter to the proximity they must maintain from the lakeshore (and members of the opposite sex!). The older students leaving their seventh years behind them enjoy this time with a sense of nostalgia and excitement as they prepare to enter the next phase of adulthood; some seeking employment and others leaning toward the option of tertiary education. Yes, slowly but surely, the Wizarding World has come to mirror its Muggle counterpart by founding Wizarding Universities, with Britain’s two establishments located in Scotland and England promising to turn determined academics into the kings and queens of tomorrow. But summer will only last so long. For all the younger kids, from fifth year to seventh, it’s only a matter of time before Hogwarts’ classrooms are filled with new sets of teenagers bombarded with rules and regulations, and a cross, ex-Hit Wizard Headmaster, who does not tolerate any kind of folly. Will your student follow the rules or say Bugger All! to them? UNIVERSITY AND FIFTH YEAR CHARACTERS NOW OPEN! |
