The Alley: Next-Gen HP |
[02 Jul 2010|09:59am] |

July 1st, 2030Draco shot the other man an amused glance. Trust Potter to always state the obvious. Bloody Gryffindor. They might have been colleagues in this, the first and only attempt at reclaiming the Wizarding World as it should be, but they were still Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter and they weren't friends. "On my mark then." Draco held his wand out, touched almost tip to tip with Potter's, and together they chanted the spell. Blue and white tendrils shot out, twined together and then slithered over the room, curling around the magical servers, disappearing inside. There was no loud noise, no flashes or sparks. Just darkness, as the servers failed and the lights went out.
alleyrpg is a well plotted game that centers on the lives of the Next Generation. A more detailed plot outline can be found here. We are looking for creative, active players who enjoy threading and journaling with their characters. |
WIZARDING BRITAIN JULY 2030 |
For almost thirty years, the Wizarding World has existed in peace and prosperity. Technological advances have made it possible for wizards to experience novelties previously availble only to Muggles: computers, movies, television, the Internet. MagiTech, as it is affectionately known, is largely popular among witches and wizards, especially the younger set.
However, there are those that oppose it, members of the WWAT and their associates. Fed up with MagiTech and what they see as the destruction of the Wizarding World through so-called "progress", a small, secret group within the WWAT has created a spell that will put an end to MagiTech for good, allowing the world to revert back to the Golden Days and unleashed it in the Ministry of Magic on July 1st, 2030.
However, the spell malfunctions with unintended consequences that reach far beyond the initial goal. MagiTech is undisturbed, but wizards and witches across the country start to have problems with their magic. At first it seems innocent enough: Pepper-Up that makes you vomit, an Alohamora that just shoots sparks, a Wingardium Levoisa that fizzles out prematurely. But as time goes by, the effects worsen, spreading out in a seemingly random pattern from the Ministry of Magic.
Game started June 12th, 2010. MOST WANTED: Aurors, Quidditch players, Young Professionals, Hit-Wizards, Students, Anti-MagiTech, Hackers, Healers and more. |

Welcome to Asheville, North Carolina!
Asheville has been proclaimed to be a "New Age Mecca" as well as "the new freak capital of the US". Most people overlook these statements made by the media, because most of Asheville's residents live there because it was named one of the top seven places to live in the US, it's location in the mountains and surrounding areas is ideal, and life moves at a slower pace in the South.
Little do people know that the first two statements are true, and Asheville has been rumored to sport some serious supernatural activity.
For many years supernatural creatures of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds have been migrating to this city in the Blue Ridge Mountains. None of them can quite put their finger on why they are drawn there, but there is a pull that they just can't ignore. Perhaps it has something to do with the convergence of all these different supernaturals, or maybe something darker is brewing underneath the city of Asheville.
Adds are every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday!

I'm trying to get a feel for the waters but does anyone have any suggestions of a home for a slightly older werewolf boy? As in, mid-twenties versus the typical teen? Given the joys that shifting brings in slowing ones aging process, he could be passing off as a college student or even a possible high school senior anxious to bust out.
He's gotten better control over his inner beast since his extremely premature change during childhood at age 14. He hails from a woodland clan of werewolves like himself however it's important to note that he's not the typical big-dog seen on the silver screen. Being a pure bred male from his tribe, Koda's larger than the average werewolf and packs a hell of a punch due to his extreme size. It's rare that he assumes the usual 'werewolf' form, and prefers instead to shift into that of the looming dire wolf who stalks the woods in search of prey.
Like most in his tribe, he's been trained that vampires are deadly but unlike traditional werewolves, he does not out right hate the vampires. He just finds them to smell intriguing, if a bit like rotten leaves. The wolves of his pack do hunt the vampires who stumble onto their land as a warning but their reputation of being 'vamp killers' is highly over rated. It does, however, keep most undead idiots out to their home so they don't dispute the facts.
Baring in mind Koda's tribe, I'm looking for somewhere that would allow him to stay near the woods and wouldn't mind the fact that he's Native American (though the tribe never brings their name up, only that they have 'existed since walking death (vampires) roamed the earth'). Should I find somewhere, I'd love to have the option of some pack mates for him! :D Bare in mind that the pack sometimes brings in outsider members under certain circumstances and with Koda being the not-so-known Alpha of his personal pack, he'd probably pull in some outside aid because he's a bit more of a free thinker than his elderly shifting grandfather who has raised him.
As for the slash romance? I'd really love it if there was a vampire- new born or not- who runs into Koda a couple of times. This boy might even start to develop a bit of a crush on him but realizes he's a werewolf and is repulsed by the idea...however, he can't stop thinking about all the advantages it would bring to be with Koda- valued by his pack- rather than rejected and hunted when he's alone.
For a het line? Possibly a newly changed young werewolf who's been friends with Koda for years and always admired him. She had a bit of a secret crush on him during childhood but didn't think anything of it. After Koda changed, however, he left the main tribe by tradition and was forced to venture and form his own pack that eventually returned to protect his birth place. The female, in this case, doesn't realize he's back until she's out hunting and is attacked by a rogue vampire seeking an easy kill. She fights well, but damages her hind leg and begins to struggle in the fight. She is rescued by the pack that Koda leads and they carry her back to the main tribe village so the shaman can cleanse her wound. From that point on she tries to track the packs movements and does whatever she can in an effort to prove herself as being just as worthy as one of the guys.

On May 02, 1998, a battle broke out at Hogwarts. The battle. Students, professors, creatures, The Order and Death Eaters alike fought hard for their beliefs. And then, Harry came forward, and history was made when he defeated Voldemort. Peace does not come easy though. There was a heavy price and they're only just beginning to pay it.
May 02 is a trio-era game set in the wake of the Final Battle. Picking up the day of and just after the ending of the final battle, we will follow our beloved characters as they grieve, fight and work to rebuild their lives, and attempt to find their place in the world as it stands now.
But it certainly won't come easy.
open as of may 02, 2010. MAY 02 is a game that started immediately post-war with the goal of playing out the interesting dynamics of what might have happened during that time. While not epilogue (or interview) compliant, the game is set strictly in canon, with a few additions for a realistic feel.

The Evil Queen, Ozma, Captain Hook, Robin Hood, and Many More!
For as long as anyone can remember, the City has always been one of the largest metropolitan centers in the world. It has had its share of glory and decline, but none so great as the age following the founding of OzCorp. Michael Ozma was no man of magic, but he might as well have been, for the technological wonders he wrought. He invented a software interface so advanced it seemed uncrackable and reshaped the corporate world in the City. Even thirty-six years after his death, his revolutionary ideas are still inspiring work on OzCorp's newest water-powered engine. Today, the Gilded Age is long past. OzCorp, now led by Ozma's three daughters, has become corrupt, and the City has fallen from its glory days. Crime and drugs now rule the streets, though some aristocrats continue to live above it all.
Inspired by folk-lore and fairy-tales, Not So Far Away is a unique Role-Playing World that brings characters from fairytale, folklore, and mythology from around the world together into an ever-expanding universe.
