In the year 2008, a virus swept North America. Ever vigilant for a pandemic, citizens boarded up their windows, stockpiled their canned goods, and turned their neighbors in to the CDC. Short wave radios fell off the shelves, evacuation routes were prepared. Gas masks and specialty filtration systems were distributed. Pills were available for those showing early symptoms. Pills that did not work. That were later replaced with cyanide as their active ingredient. For those who were brave enough to put their fingers near a loved one's mouth. The United States, Canada, Mexico, the virus swept down into South America and festered in the heat of the jungle. In some places it burned out. Superstition ruled and saved lives. But nothing stopped the virus. You wake up to the crackle of dead airwaves. Three months after the first diagnosed case of Currere Excessum was recorded, NATO approved Great Britain's use of nuclear force against the United States. It was assumed that all organic material would be reduced to ash under the impact. It was assumed that the Quarantine of the Americas would be temporary, at best. Any who survived the blast would be given the highest in humanitarian attention and medical care. The only American emissaries who knew of the plan lay incinerated in Washington. I kinda want to slay the dragon. Let's go to work." And get to work the remaining members of Angel Investigations did. Four heroes against a city run rampant with monsters of all shapes and sizes. When it was all said and done, the dragon was slayed. The others followed suit or fled for their lives. Gunn perished but Angel, Spike, and Illyria survived. The Senior Partners fell silent and the battle for control of Los Angeles was declared over at long last. The city has begun to rebuild and people have returned to their daily lives since then. Yet, already plans are in motion to destroy the peace that has befallen the City of Angels. The Senior Partners are back, with a vengeance, and a plan they are certain will succeed. The Powers That Be have decided the time has come to mount a viable defense. Heroes and villains alike are arriving day and night. Some come with an understanding of what is to be expected. [27 Apr 2009|10:31pm] It is 52 BC, and the Roman Republic is maintained by two men: Gaius Julius Caesar and Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus and the class differences between the plebians and the patricians are growing every day. There has also been tension growing between the two leaders of the Republic as Caesar becomes increasingly more popular because of his part in the Gallic Wars. The Roman Senate as well as several other notable families of patriarchs worry that Caesar will soon overstep his bounds and try to take over the Republic, not just as leader, but as dictator. This is a progressive game, following loosely on the historical events of the Roman Republic becoming the Roman Empire. The game is also loosely based on the show Rome, with some of the characters from that show being available for play. Many original characters will also be needed as well.
