Ivy Grove Academy

Premise & Rules | Academics & Activities | Dorms | Held & Taken

Ivy Grove Academy is a fictional Private Boarding School, set in Worcester, Massachusetts, and loosely based off of the real Worcester Academy. Gameplay will take place on the campus of Ivy Grove, exploring the relationships and lives of boarding students, away from home, friends, and all things familiar. Of course, this doesn't mean that students will always be confined to campus. Sports and other various events, trips, formals, and activities will take place in the city of Worcester, surrounding areas, and maybe even another country!

Now seeking a diverse student body and faculty! From the trust fund kids, to the academic genius on scholarship, jocks, and slackers with deep-pocketed parents. Quirky teachers with odd teaching habits, hardass coaches, cold as ice Lit. teachers with a chip on their shoulder, and a Headmaster who loathes children. They'll all be here with one common goal: Graduation.

Neo Genesis.A mutation of the HIV virus has left the global population infertile. Panic abounds. Extremist governments have come to power in most countries - including the United States. But there is a cure. The United States government announces a treatment that can restore fertility among its people. However, it comes at a cost. Legislation has passed, effectively listing all unmarried individuals aged 16 to 50 in a pairing lottery with the intent to form heteronormative families.

All matched couples are sent into their forced cohabitation and required to spend time together in government sanctioned matrimony. Once a month they are required to undergo the fertility treatment, and expected to produce children. Failure for one or both spouses to comply will result in imprisonment in the infamous Adjustment Centers until they do.

People have died. Others have simply disappeared. In Seattle, the government rules with an iron fist through the power of its two puppet organizations: the Pairing Office and the Adjustment Center. Fledgling anti-governmental organizations are becoming more daring, but their efforts to overthrow the powers that be still waver in the face of a complacent public opinion and lingering panic.

Which side will you choose?

Lottery Taken Wanted Application
Neo Genesis is an arranged marriage RPG set in a universe parallel to our own. We are a plot-driven group with an emphasis on politics as much as interpersonal relationships. We have been active and thriving for more than three months. We welcome all characters and storylines within the realm of reason. An interest in storytelling and RPing gray-area plots is encouraged.

It's 1980, and as the first war escalades out of control, history is changing. Severus Snape did not overhear the original prophecy, but Rita Skeeter did. Millicent Bagnold is dead, and Rodolphus Lestrange is Minister for Magic. Regulus Black has not discovered Voldemort's use of horcruxes, and without an ominous threat against his immortality, Voldemort is focusing on taking control of all aspects of magical life. He is planning the eradication of Dumbledore's Order of the Phoenix. Purist ideology is slowly taking over wizarding culture and influencing the choices of those fleeing the country, those abandoning their society masks, and those making a call to arms.

An ill wind is blowing nobody any good.

We are a growing, organized, plot-driven game with many key characters available for application, and you might be just what we're missing. We would especially like to see Peter Pettigrew, Augustus Rookwood & Barty Crouch Sr., more DE's and DE supporters, media, and ministry employees!

Charing Cross; Post-DH RPG [22 Apr 2009|08:40pm]
DIAGON ALLEY -- APRIL 2003
A rogue band of thieves is pillaging homes and businesses alike. There is no motive and no clues have been left behind. The victims seem random—but are they really? Aurors are working vigilantly to find who ever is behind the thefts, but there is little to be found. As the annual charity auction for St Mungo's approaches, will the thieves finally make their plan known? And how many people will be hurt in the process?
GAME BACKGROUND
It's 2003 and the Wizarding World has come a long way since the Final Battle. Death Eaters have been tried and dealt with fairly under the watchful eye of the new Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt and a reformed Wizengamot. Diagon Alley and Hogwarts have been rebuilt. Slowly the magical community has rebuilt and healed from the destruction of Voldemort's reign. Most characters make their home within Diagon Alley as new flats and residences have opened their doors.
THE GAME & PLAYERS
Charing Cross is a unique game where each month a new plot is presented for the characters. Much like real life the characters must react to current events as well as manage their personal relationships. Our hope is that through these small, short-lived plots players will take the opportunity to develop their characters and relationships with other players. We also encourage small group plots, such as book clubs, bowling leagues and writer's circles among many others.

Charing Cross has a small group of dedicated, talented creative writers who are hopeful for new friends. We're looking for equally dedicated writers who want to experience a slightly different RPG experience. The mods are friendly and easy-going and encourage player input. We're looking for players who bring something slightly different to the table as well, with fresh, exciting characters. There are plenty of interactive experiences just waiting to happen, so give us a chance and we think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
FUTURE PLOT
Don't worry -- when the current plot ends in early May the game won't stop! The mods are busy developing the next bit of action and whatever it is -- We promise it will be EPIC! Previous plots have included gender swaps, masquerade balls and karaoke nights. We encourage player input into what they'd like to see next, and there's even a portion of the application where prospective players can have their say.
