At the beginning of time, Earth was created. It doesn’t matter who or what made it – if some great all-powerful being thought it and it was, or that it developed for millions of years before becoming what we know now. All that matters is that Earth was. Earth supported life, and it flourished. Creatures of all size and shape were born into this universe, each with their own purpose – their own fate. Each creature knew its place – all except one. Man. Man was, at first, a friend to all creatures, but after a time Man grew greedy. They multiplied and spread across the world, dominating it, devouring, controlling and destroying as they went. One day, the Earth said to Man; “If you cannot control yourselves, then I will find ways to control you.” But Man was the ruler of all creatures and would not listen. “Man is the most powerful creature in the universe,” they said, and this made the Earth angry.

Earth was never going to last us until the end of eternity. Man’s footprint upon it was large and irreparable. In its last dying days, the Earth gave to each creature – except man – new strength, new power, and a fierce desire to hunt and kill the alleged rulers of all creatures. Earth could no longer support the life of Man, and we were forced to flee. Outcast from our own crumbling planet, we searched for years amongst the stars, desperate for a new home.

The year is now 675 AE. The Warren is a facility lead by General Threarah. Fiver, who possesses the abilities of a seer, has a frightening premonition that tells of doom and destruction coming to the Warren. The Threarah refuses to listen to him, and so, with a small group, his brother Hazel leads the way to freedom on the rundown ship Watership Down. The roleplay begins three weeks after the escape, and just after the arrival of Holly and Jorelle. Fiver has blurry ideas of where they need to go. Somewhere they will be safe to start their own life – a planet, far away from the rule of Frith and Rainbow Corporation and the greed and war mongering of the Elil. The trouble, however … is getting there.

All the universe will be your enemy, Prince of a Thousand enemies. And when they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you; fighter, listener, runner, Prince with the swift warning. Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed.

You do not need to have read the book (of the same name) or seen the movie to participate in this roleplay.

Welcome to the City of Sin ( original supernatural game ) [30 Dec 2008|06:22pm]

Not a roleplay to take home to your mother, CoS is a place of violence, hatred and anger. Vicious creatures lurk in the depths of it's shadows. Vampires, therianthropes, witches, and plenty of others all call this disgusting city their home. Gangs line the streets with their mismatched weapons and their unmatched need for territory. Mafia and mobs all fight for the supreme power, and packs all fight for the territory. Humans... Well they have no choice in the matter. Supernatural's are taking over everything they know, and they don't even bloody well know it!

So grab a lemonaide and sit back. Watch the wolves tear themselves apart and watch the vampires lap up the bloody mess. It should be fun.

What we are looking for;
» Dedicated, creative, self-motivated players who are willing to push boundaries.
» Due to the nature of CoS we would like to see some strong characters. Characters who will force others to take action.
» At CoS your hand will not be held through plot and it is expected of you to push your character forward regarding plot.
» Players who enjoy a dark setting and like to push limitations and themselves.

Over twenty-five years have passed since the "strange" and "indescribable" events had occurred in the small town of Hollow Creek, North Dakota. The aftermath of foolish games and uncontrolled power left many scarred, few dead and a demon bound to an object, never to be released. With the passing of time came the next generation of those involved in those events. Spread out across the nation, and even across the ocean, no one ever expected that history would repeat itself hundredfold.

The summer of 2010 was one of curiosity, new experiences and definition of oneself: it brought together a few young adults in Hollow Creek and the areas surrounding it to form a coven. Past objects were found tucked away in the storage of the town's church- a plethora of books, notes and essential items one would need for witchcraft. And again with the foolish, unknowing acts of children, the past was released in the form of a vengeful demon.

Now, in various parts of the country, people connected to the events are being hunted down by the demon and those that wish to follow it. The supernatural world is in a stir over the awakening, while those clueless to the past watch as their reality is tipped over with their own discoveries and the deaths of their loved ones.

Deceptive Perception - A Semi-Anonymous Supernatural-Type RP [30 Dec 2008|09:00pm]

Deceptive Perception is a game unlike most games out there today. The players are encouraged to remain anonymous while playing in order to suspend reality even more than normal. This also encourages those who might not ever meet or know each other to play together and, eventually, want to know each other. Think of this game as a place to let go of any preconceptions about anyone you may have ever met online and just play with the characters that are set out before you.

The characters are supernatural beings who have existed for as long as mortal stories have been told - vampires, demons, and werewolves just to name a few. That's not to say that mortals don't still over-run the lands, but the constant supernatural presence does make some more mindful of what places they venture into on dark and stormy nights.

The land itself, known as Inora, is unlike any other place within the mortal realm. The lands consist of a set of islands that cradle more than just mortals in its loving embrace. The islands were said to have been created by the vampires long ago when mortals were still young and easily manipulated. They gave themselves a place to live among the mortals who feed them, among the mortals who they rely on. They used their magic and knowledge to shape the lands to their desires while painting the earth red with blood. Eventually, other races were thrown into the fray and a century of war was fought for supremacy.

Centuries passed between rulers and the times of war seemed to almost be forgotten. Even when some rulers' deaths seemed somewhat unnatural, the treaty between the demons and vampires was always upheld. Those cursed descendants of man, werewolves, always presided over the ceremonies unto which the power of the government changed hands. Eventually, the winds of change blew through the lands and the times evolved as well. New cities sprang up in the wilds and an industrial revolution took hold.

But even something as simple as your perception can be deceptive and nothing is ever perfect...

There are copious amounts of characters needed in the game to flesh out the royal families and houses. All those currently not filled have been placed up on the Needed & Wanted Page in order to make it easier for potential players to see what is going on during the "building" process. Names that are listed can be altered to suit writers' tastes. These are merely suggested names to act as placeholders in the histories of characters who have already been accepted. We know these people exist, but we don't know everything about them. Please help us find out just who they are!

Writers of this game should have control over their own story lines and, as long as nothing really drastic is needed, the mod will not intervene to stop plots unless it is deemed necessary to keep the game from jumping the shark. Of course, personal story lines are encouraged, but you are also encouraged to play with the group rather than just one or two others.

Our intended opening date is January 2009, most likely Sunday the 4th. Applications are open and holds will not begin expiring until the 1st of January so if you want a few extra days, now is the time to make your hold!

The outcome is known, but how was it reached?

In late spring of 1997, Albus Dumbledore was killed by Severus Snape, and the Wizarding World changed. Hallowed Ground is an RPG community for writers interested in exploring the intricacies of what followed, reaching deep beyond what's already known. Come discover where everyone who wasn't Ron, Harry, or Hermione went after the attack on Bill & Fleur's wedding, watch the DA reform and battle the Carrows reign, the Death Eaters plan attacks on Muggle and Wizarding societies from inside the Ministry of Magic, and members of the Order of the Phoenix strive to keep a light shining in the dark. Join us in our endeavor to develop the adventures unseen as time winds down to a final battle unlike any writing experience you've had.

Hallowed Ground is searching for the absolute fullest compliment of cast possible. We accept any character mentioned in the seven Harry Potter books who is known to be alive on 1 July, 1997, and encourage insightful takes on both characters we already know and particularly ones we've barely met. The game is played in day-to-day time (with accommodations for holidays, etc.) and is set to end after the Battle of Hogwarts, with as much time as is needed after to properly finish threads. Applications are currently open; players are asked to work with canon to develop their own path through the known story lines as we go, as there is already so much available room to maneuver.

Writers interested in applying should know that this is a community oriented game. Moderating is done by a combination of founding mods and player-elected mods, preventing power trips and encouraging player participation while still providing the necessary assistance and guidance to make a game run smoothly. Experience is not required; we firmly believe that a writer brand new to RPG can develop a character fabulously and fully. Seasoned players are also happily accepted with their favourite known characters or brand new explorations, now is your chance to let someone new invade your brain! For more information, please click on the links below!

Actively Seeking Applications For:
Voldemort, Bellatrix Lestrange, Amycus Carrow
Rodolphus Lestrange, Rabastan Lestrange, Antonin Dolohov
Dolores Umbridge, Pius Thicknesse, Albert Runcorn
Order Members, Weasleys, students & others are still available as well!
