Forgotten Gods [29 Dec 2008|10:52am]
About / Rules / Cast List / Held / Wanted / FAQ / Resources / Apply

What happens to the old gods, once their temples have crumbled and their believers have abandoned them? Do they die, forsaken, alone? Or do they remain, still wandering the world, immortal, surviving off what little belief they can gather?

Forgotten Gods follows the lives of these old deities, brought to America long ago by explorers or immigrants from their homelands and eventually abandoned or lost from memory. As their worshippers moved on to new religions, the gods' powers waned - for a god, at its most pure essence, is no more than an idea, and an idea is worthless if there is nobody to believe in it. Some have passed, forgotten, from the world, while others have fallen into madness. Some have simply tried to adapt, to make a life for themselves in this place without gods, getting by on what little scraps of worship and belief they can garner. Others are more radical, attempting to regain the power that was once theirs, to revive their followings.

And then there are the New Gods. Gods of cars and computers, television and radio, cities and highways, all those things that modern Americans put their faith in. They are young, at the height of their power. These newcomers are regarded dismissively by some of the older gods, who have seen so many new deities rise and fall in their time; jealously by others, who wish to reclaim the power for their own; and by all with a deep wariness.

Inspired by the world of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, this game invites players to step into the roles of deities, old and new, to create their own modern mythology.

Life has always been a game of division; G O O D & E V I L. When the game is over and the veil of life parts to reveal that eternal afterlife the winner and the loser are revealed. And the aministrators of it all, the Alpha and Omega, continue to play--a single soul is easily lost among so many others.

But what of those souls who lose before the game is even over? What of those who are already D A M N E D yet walk Earth still? When all that is Holy turns it's face from you, where can you find peace?

New York City. Though known as the most expensive place to live in the United States, its also known to be the most heavily populated, with nearly ten million people living and playing in its highly urbanized boundaries. Getting an apartment is a hard, excruciating process in New York -- but getting a roommate who won't steal your stuff or kill you in your sleep and use your body as a work of art in their gallery at the Guggenheim is even harder. And that's just the common places.

How about a place where your neighbor can w a l k t h r o u g h w a l l s during the full moon? Or where the woman who lives on the second floor has m a s s i v e b l a c k w i n g s like those of some great cro?

Built by a Daughter of Cain, it is the only place in all the world that cannot be touched by the laws of heaven and hell. The only place outside of the influences of God and Satan. A soft spot where the supernatural is only just below the surface. And since the death of it's original owner it's been rented out to all manner of supernatural creatures, who have been forsaken by Heaven. From demons to vampires to the lingering dead and, most importantly, Children of Cain, those who have made a pact with the devil.

So, welcome to the Godless Complex. A haven for those forsaken by Heaven.
For those who are without a God.

The Gossip Witch - A Post DH Harry Potter RPG [29 Dec 2008|09:08pm]

RULESPOSTINGCHARACTERSCASTPBSAPPLICATION

Spotted: PP having lunch with DM-- Is she trying to get her hooks back into her old flame? LB and PtP coming into Madam Primpernelle's with some rather large bags-- Seems their beauty isn't entirely as natural as they claim! HA and SB wearing familiar yellow and black scarfs-- reminiscing about old times, ladies?

It's 2004, and Voldemort has been gone for over six years. People are moving on, and finally living their lives. With some changes, of course. In 2003, Weasleys Wizard Wheezes came out with a brand new, and very popular, product: magical journals through which witches and wizards could keep in constant contact with one another. But with that constant contact came something else. A new mystery that the young magical community both loves and hates.

She calls herself "The Gossip Witch", and no one knows her true identity. All they know is that if there's gossip in the Wizarding community, The Gossip Witch knows it, and she's not afraid to print it. Entries from this unknown source appear in the journals weekly, sometimes even daily; printing everything there is to know about the lives and scandals of former Hogwarts graduates. She may use initials, but just about everyone knows who the rumors are about.

Will your character end up on Gossip Girl's daily dishings? And how will this affect their lives, their relationships, and their emotions? No matter how it plays out, you know you love her...

XOXO,
The Gossip Witch

The Gossip Witch is a post-Deathly Hallows, non-epilogue compliant game and is now open, as of December 19th. We are accepting applications for most characters listed in the Harry Potter Lexicon, but are especially seeking:
