Looking for a new take on role play?
Imagine if Aziraphale and Crowley (read: angel and demon) decided to make a human chess game? The Eternal Adversaries have set up an epic game, pulling creatures from across the universe to act as their pieces, from kings and queens to knights and rooks and pawns. No knowledge (or even understanding) of chess is required! The epic chess game is merely a back drop to tie the game together.
The game is pan fandom, and accepts original characters with a bit of backstory displayed for others to get to know the character. The only catch is, there are no super natural powers, aside from Aziraphale and Crowley, themselves. All other characters lose any and all supernatural powers upon entering the game, which takes place in an isolated mental health asylum. Characters must assume human form, and can fill roles as either staff or patients in the facility, named J'Adoube. J'Adoube is a chess term, uttered when a player wishes to adjust a piece on the board without having to play that piece after touching it. Staff roles can be filled by anyone, as neither Aziraphale nor Crowley are known to play fair, they can bend credentials at will, to suit their needs. Both staff and patients will be represented by the chess game pieces.
It is up to the individual muns to decide if Aziraphale has called their character to the side of Good, or if Crowley has called the character to the side of Evil. Again this is a ploy, a means to tie the game together. Azirphale and Crowley may call up whomever they wish, irregardless of the character's history. Aziraphale is not limited to good or righteous characters, Crowley is not limited to dark and twisted characters. Once decided, you can not change which of the angel or demon brought your character to the institute, but alliances can change, as time goes on. Characters can resist the force they were brought to, or they can embrace it. This is one of those things that will have to work itself out as the game progresses.

The gods are up to no good again. A large conference was called, many showed up, many others deemed it not worth their precious time. The proceedings were long, drawn out and arguments were had. Many plans were drawn up, discussed, thrown out and redone. One plan was finally agreed upon.
A plan that would change the course of a chosen few of their followers.
All the worlds, all the times, beings could feel the pull. The mansion called, beckoned them to a time in paradise, held them within the confines of the island. Here only the mansion ruled, ever changing, ever listening, and all knowing.

Scientists in the Deep Blue Sea:
A n U n d e r w a t e r R P G
The Odyssey Project was created for the sole purpose of testing the hypothesis that human life under water is indeed possible. The mission leaders hand selected ten individuals from across the globe to participate in the project. Individuals of all nationalities and personalities, and leaders in their particular fields of study, were chosen to live in an underwater area known only as The Habitat – a multi-spherical, water tight facility deep within the Pacific Ocean.
There, they would live, eat, sleep, and gather data for a minimum of five years. The lives that they knew were left behind for the all important purpose of studying the unknown depths of the ocean and to determine if the environment was indeed viable for human life. Families were told lies of the task; explanations of remote research facilities and limited communication were the base for all the stories. Even then, all crew members were made to sign a disclosure agreement and sworn to secrecy. News of The Odyssey Project was not meant to be public knowledge, not until the government felt they had enough information.
The ten-person group assigned to the task consisted of a psychologist, marine biologist, botanist, medical doctor, oceanographer, geologist, computer engineer, mechanical technician, two computer technicians. It is hoped the information gathered from The Odyssey Project would be vital not only to the project and the scientific community, but to humanity as a whole.

During the 21st century, a global pandemic consumed the world. Due to its devastating nature, they dubbed it the "Pandora Virus." No one had time to truly study it or to counter the rapid spreading of PV. The virus tore through the world's population, killing almost one-third of humanity in its first month alone. Countries everywhere grew panicked, believing it to be a work of biological terrorism. Nation stood against nation, and most of the earth was laid to waste within just a handful of months by the combined effects of nuclear war and the Pandora Virus. Survivors immune to the virus found the world uninhabitable, and many of them perished due to radiation poisoning or famine.
There were others, though. Others who inhabited this planet along with human beings, but they had been in hiding for many centuries. Praeternaturals, they were - legendary beings and creatures believed to be nothing more than myth. All of them were also biologically immune to the Pandora Virus. With the foresight of the oracle named Euryale, praeternaturals learned of what was to come shortly before it began and prepared for the preordained onslaught. They built safe havens in hidden areas across the world that were protected heavily by magic. Taking in humans and praeternaturals alike before the war, these communities provided a stable living environment for the survival of all species.
One such safe haven is an ancient land once inhabited by elves. It has been renovated into a sanctuary and renamed to Elysium. Located in the modern-day Republic of Macedonia near Lake Ohrid, it was once a part of Greece. Now, it is a part of the process to one day rebuild the world.
