[17 Mar 2008|01:37am] The war is over. Harry Potter remains the first Master of the Three Deathly Hallows. But not the true master, since one has been lost. And then forgotten. The year is 2008. Harry Potter has been Head of the Auror Department at the Ministry of Magic for a year now. People are settling down, starting families, and for once in a long time the Wizarding World has been at peace. But something so important that has been released cannot stay forgotten for long. On December 21st 2007, a 4th yeah Gryffindor boy was serving his last detention before going home for the Christmas Holidays. He was near the outer edge of the Forbidden Forest collecting herbs for the Potions storage room that he'd managed to ruin with his spoiled potion. He was kicking through the snow near the edge of tree by the clearing when he found two peculiar stones. It was the darkness in colour and the strange way the light from his wand reflected it... He quickly stored them in his pocket when he heard Hagrid calling him and the stones were soon forgotten again. The next day most of the students had left Hogwarts and gone home. It was by an extreme coincidence that this young boy's mother worked in the Department of Mysteries in the Ministry of Magic. In the process of him coming home, the stones had been swifted from the boy's pockets to the Mother's pocket. It was a habit she had while doing the laundry, so nothing would get lost. Once the holidays were over, and the children had been sent back to school, all parents of course went back to the regular routines. The frazzled mother of course hadn't off from work for weeks, and now was returning again. With the stones in her pocket. She'd absently taken them from there and placed them on her desk. They sat there for weeks, until they'd covered with papers and books. Again, forgotten. But by another chance, a book and some papers were needed from this pile by an Unspeakable. The stones had been picked up in the process, and taken to the veil room. Unbeknownst to anyone, the stones fell on the rocks. Ignored, and picked around, until eventually... they came in contact with the arch... Gently, hardly anyone noticed right away, but a hand came and pushed the veil aside and a tall figure stepped out. He was soon followed by another man and two women. "Where are we?" "Godric... what have you gone and done now?" "I have done nothing!" "You always say that." "He has a point." "Well this time it is true!!" "Well we are no longer at the Castle." "Quite astute of you, Rowena." Their conversation ceased as the noticed the stunned Unspeakables standing around them. "You... came out of the veil! The Minister must be informed at once!" The mysterious four looked to the archway behind them, and all four seemed to nod to each other in agreement. "We will accompany you, in order to straighten this out," one of the men answered for the others. Once the room was clear and the arch way no longer blocked, again hands gradually came out from behind the veil. The voices louder. All of them anxious, fearful, confusion, excitement. Fighting for life. Some came staggering out before disappearing into wisps of light traveling far away from the Ministry. The stronger the essence, the longer they stayed, exhale lasting for an hour. And then there was one. A gleeful youth with curly blond hair. He stepped out of the veil much like the first four. He stepped out from the arch turning around, taking in the room. Then his eyes fell down till he saw the stones, his eyes a glow. He knelt down, picked them up in his hands testing the weight in his hands. "At last, I have it." was all he uttered as his excitement took control, and he too disappeared into a whisp of light to travel and reappear elsewhere. The stones, were no longer forgotten. Ever at the Ready [17 Mar 2008|11:29am] - Mod Journal - RP Comm - OOC Comm - Graphics - - Plot - Rules - Character List - Played-Bys - Team Info - Apply - - Contacts (F-Lock) - Advertise (F-Lock) - So we all know that Captain Jack Harkness runs Torchwood Three, that Torchwood One was destroyed in the Battle of Canary Wharf, that Torchwood Two is headed by "a very strange man" and that Torchwood Four is currently misplaced. Well that's all fine and dandy, but things are about to start changing. Torchwood One is reopening just outside of London and is now known as Torchwood 1.1 and Torchwood Two's leader has been replaced. Torchwood Three of course isn't any different, with the exception that Jack has been missing for a bit. The big thing is that Torchwood Four is back on the map, headed by the same person it had been before it was 'misplaced'. It seems Torchwood Four, headed by one Major Charlie Sheppard, had a minor malfunction involving Cardiff's rift. In fact, Torchwood Four is located right near Torchwood Three, or at least it was until it and its team got pulled into another universe. Which is where Lucian Devereaux comes in. It seems that he got a hold of a Time Agent's vortex manipulator in the far future and has been using it at his own pleasure. Well, until it backfired and he was sent to the present and made the rift flux, sucking Torchwood Four into it. Luckily, Major Sheppard wasn't there at the time. Now as for Lucian, he'd been jumping through time randomly and unwillingly as he tried to fix the vortex manipulator. During this time he realized that he'd jump from the present in Cardiff to some different point in time and then back. Along the way, he managed to bring back people with him who shouldn't be during that time, and that caused the rift to go haywire, also bringing people to the present that shouldn't be there: those that are dead, those who aren't born yet, and those in other dimensions. And so, Torchwood realized they needed to work extra hard to try and stop this and thus re-established Torchwood Four, somehow convincing Charlie to head it once more. And that is where we begin... Ever at the ready is a Torchwood/Doctor Who RP that allows for any character from either series (old and new) to be incorporated, as well as original characters! It takes place around the start of season two. We've only just started and we're looking for a majority of the canon cast still, including The Doctor (any of them) and most of Torchwood Three. We're also looking for bad guys and aliens to be hunted down, as well as people to fill up the other Torchwood Teams. If you think you're ready, then we're ready to have you join the team! Ever have a character or idea for a character in the Harry Potter verse that you've just wanted to write out and put in a game where you can just develop their lives? accio could be the game for you. The game is all about character development minus the sticky war and Death Eater plots. The war is over, it's 2005 and characters have moved on from that time of chaos. Lord Voldemort is dead and not coming back, Harry Potter is an auror and life as the Wizarding World knows it is back to normal. This game is about the lives that these characters live after the war. Careers are to be made as well as families and social lives. It's about everything they need to do in society to survive. Some play Quidditch, some work for the Ministry of Magic or run businesses while some just attempt to live off of their parents money. Still, a group of people who still believe that the Wizarding World should be only open to those of pure blood remain. Whether they've accepted that their hopes of achieving this was lost with Lord Voldemort, or are still hoping a new uprising will begin - one thing is clear: they still have the same beliefs they had years ago. A change should be made. accio is a social HP game started by a couple of people who are tired of all these games starting up and then dying 2 weeks later. After the last one died barely a week in, we both thought, hey, why not just start our own? So, please check us out! Meanwhile, Daenerys 'Stormborn' Targaryen from across the Narrow Sea dissolved the unrest in Slaver's Bay and prepared to make true her long awaited ambitions to sail into Westeros. It was not long before the news spilled into Westeros, whether by ravens or by spies and messengers. The mysteries surrounding the identity of Robb's heir notwithstanding, fealties were sworn and allegiances shifted as the West scurried to side with either the House Baratheon or the House Targaryen in anticipation of the Great War That Never Happened. Indeed, the Stags and the Dragons had been a blade's length away from the first blood spilt when the Wall gave. It does what it needs to to thrive, even when the changes that must be made are buried deep within the genes. Evolution. Sometimes it comes in baby steps, sometimes in giant leaps and bounds. Sometimes all it takes is one slight shift, and the change appears. This change is called mutation. The jump in human evolution that takes place in the early twenty-first century, is a mutation which causes enhancements in the known human condition. With some the change is known from birth, but it takes time in others to develop. The enhancements are unknown to most of the human population, and for most of those who share such a condition, are secrets best kept hidden. There is an apartment complex in Las Vegas, Nevada, whose occupants are specimens of this new generation of evolved humans. Most of them are hiding their special adaptations. Some have been living in their current apartments for a while now, and some are recent arrivals. It is unclear as to the motives of fate. The reasons for this specific group of people to be brought together at this specific time in this specific place are unknown. The only thing that is perfectly clear is that every character is a piece that interlocks with others, to make an amazing picture. I mean, who wants the pressure of being super all the time? The year is 2108, exactly 100 years in the future. Thirty years ago, people with superpowers started appearing across the globe, and not long after that, masked and caped Super Heroes started patrolling the cities, protecting justice and the innocent and effectively making all the everyday heroes almost obsolete. Lately, the government has been urging those with super powers to relocate to a new city designed especially for them. Located underground, the city (called "Haven") is massive and contains everything you could ever want. The only catch is that anyone inside the city is required to report once a week for testing - so the government's scientists can figure out what distinguishes someone with superpowers from the rest of the world. But don't worry, the tests are "harmless"! In fact, they even pay you for your time, right along with giving you free housing and a free car. What do you have to lose? But, of course, everyone knows the old adage. If it sounds too good to be true... cityofheroes is a game based around former super heroes who have all relocated to one, fictional city. We're focused on character interaction and development through focusing on scenes and threading, with a minimal focus on journals and other forms of communication. Lord Voldemort is a well known and well feared figure by this time, and he has never been more powerful. It began with disappearances six years ago. Then, the seemingly random attacks. Over the course of four years, these attacks have become more calculated and strategic and it's clear what end is in sight. A world ruled by pure wizards and witches. With Voldemort's hand over the magical world growing daily, hope for those who oppose him seems lost. A solitary group continues to risk their lives against him, to stand for tolerance and equality in the wizarding community. Those who are loyal to Albus Dumbledore - the Order of the Phoenix. Will their efforts be enough? Both sides land blows but both despairingly and fortunately, neither has seemed to be critical. However, within the past few months, the scale has been tipping in favor of the Death Eaters. Their attacks and number of victims have steadily increased and times are becoming desperate for those who stand against them. Altus Luminarium is a Deathly Hallows canon Marauder era game focusing on the first war. There will be an equal amount of emphasis on plot for students in school as well as adults in the "real world."
