What if a falsified Prophecy had been passed to him instead? The year is 1995, When Harry, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts. A few changes have been made to the staff over the summer, the most noticeable being the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor; A Mr. Tom Marvolo Riddle. His new post is widely questioned by the wizarding world; The man has been convicted of murders throughout the seventies, why would Dumbledore hire him to teach young children? Dumbledore simply plays it off saying that he has applied "twice before". That he has not been able to be convicted of anything. Mr. Riddle has, after all, been studying abroad since the 1980's, and is very knowledgeable on his subject. Shortly after his downfall, Kingsley Shacklebolt was named Minister of Magic temporarily. During this time, the Ministry immediately started investigating all of it's employees in an effort to rid Wizarding London of all supporters of the Dark Lord and of anyone who abused their power or committed any crimes during the war. People were arrested and fired and many more were found to have been under the imperius curse. Such actions and steps being made and taken by the Ministry, the community reveled in their new hope for a life of peace and normalcy. No longer would they have to live in fear of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and no longer would they have to doubt Ministry and their actions. Unfortunately, it took only four short years for corruption to spread through out the Ministry and the Wizarding world once more. The new found struggle for power within the Ministry walls resulted in blackmail, conspiracy and murder. In December of 1998, Kingsley Shacklebolt was found murdered in his office along side the Aurors that were assigned to protect him. The investigation concluded that the Minister and his guards were murdered by one of the Death Eaters that is still on the run from searching Aurors. Shortly after the investigation ended, Gawain Robards was given the position of Minister of Magic. He was supported by a large group of followers, but some knew better. Robards welcomed the position and for a long time had craved it and had his own ideas about how Wizarding London should be ran. He spent years collecting information on existing members of the Wizenmagot and many people with high positions of power within the Ministry. Robards promised positive changes within the community and offered a charming demeanor that gained him the support of all of his followers. The Minister took it upon himself to use this information that he had on many members of the Ministry to force out the honest employees that did not adhere to his new ideas. Ever At The Ready [19 Jan 2008|03:05pm] - Mod Journal - RP Comm - OOC Comm - - Plot - Rules - Character List - Played-Bys - Team Info - Apply - - Contacts (F-Lock) - Advertise (F-Lock) - It seems Torchwood Four, headed by one Major Charlie Sheppard, had a minor malfunction involving Cardiff's rift. In fact, Torchwood Four is located right near Torchwood Three, or at least it was until it and its team got pulled into another universe. Which is where Lucian Devereaux comes in. It seems that he got a hold of a Time Agent's vortex manipulator in the far future and has been using it at his own pleasure. Well, until it backfired and he was sent to the present and made the rift flux, sucking Torchwood Four into it. Luckily, Major Sheppard wasn't there at the time. Now as for Lucian, he'd been jumping through time randomly and unwillingly as he tried to fix the vortex manipulator. During this time he realized that he'd jump from the present in Cardiff to some different point in time and then back. Along the way, he managed to bring back people with him who shouldn't be during that time, and that caused the rift to go haywire, also bringing people to the present that shouldn't be there: those that are dead, those who aren't born yet, and those in other dimensions. And so, Torchwood realized they needed to work extra hard to try and stop this and thus re-established Torchwood Four, somehow convincing Charlie to head it once more. And that is where we begin... Ever at the ready is a Torchwood/Doctor Who RP that allows for any character from either series (old and new) to be incorporated, as well as original characters! It takes place around the start of season two. We've only just started and we're looking for a majority of the canon cast still, including The Doctor (any of them) and most of Torchwood Three. We're also looking for bad guys and aliens to be hunted down, as well as people to fill up the other Torchwood Teams. If you think you're ready, then we're ready to have you join the team! Indeed it is the only thing that ever has - Margaret Mead By 1976, the United Kingdom had already suffered through six years of destruction and terror at the hands of Voldemort and his followers. The effects of the war were being felt in all aspects of life, both in the Muggle and Wizarding Worlds: severe economic recession, political turmoil, social unrest. The overwhelming cloud of despair caused by the constant disappearances, murders, battles and seemingly random acts of violence seemed impenetrable. However, a small ray of light began to shine through the devastation. Albus Dumbledore, Head of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, had recently created a clandestine organization called the Order of the Phoenix. Hardly more than a rumor, a faint whisper of hope to the Wizard population, the Order was dedicated to the eradication of Voldemort, his Death Eaters and the doctrine of ignorance and hatred they promulgated. Its hodgepodge of members consisted of Dumbledore’s old friends and allies who had helped in the defeat of Grindelwald thirty years prior, righteous Aurors, disgusted by the Ministry’s recent sanction of the use of Unforgivables against Death Eaters, and recent graduates of Hogwarts determined to change the world. This is a world of heroes and villains, of wizards fighting for their beliefs, and of students growing up and trying to understand this war they’ve inherited and their place in it. We invite you to join it. Lost Generation is a MWPP era RPG that started on January 18th and has many of characters still available. What separates it from the veritable cornucopia of other MWPP games is the quality of our players and, above all, our adherence to canon. Severus Snape is Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and the Death Eaters are pretty much taking over every nook and cranny of the school. Students are terrified, and he has everyone right where he wants them - except for the one person who he wanted to keep his eye on the most. Harry Potter. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are on the run, and have been for a few months now - ever since Fleur and Bill's wedding. They've been able to narrowly escape the danger of the outside world, but how long can this last? Especially when Kingsley Shacklebolt is about to be imperio'ed to enforce something new, something that will drive people to even more madness, and could quite possibly help Voldemort locate Harry's whereabouts. A marriage law. Once a pureblood reaches the legal age of seventeen, they are to be put into the marriage program, and paired up with someone of the opposite affiliation to be wed to. Unless both parties and their parental figures object, and it is the Death Eater's side to want to decide against the marriage, they are bound by law to get married, and produce an heir within the first three years of their union, though it is encouraged to have a child within the first year of the marriage. They must be married within one year of the engagement (both of which have to be done properly), and have to live within the same residence within three months after the ceremony. The public believe that the nuclear power plant melted down, and the resulting explosion wiped out the city’s population in the blink of an eye. The reality is far more sinister. However, few know of the true reason for the city’s destruction. The few survivors who do know the horrors that were unleashed have been discredited in the public eye by the one company no one would have expected. The Umbrella Corporation. Inside Umbrella, business is running normally. Though the setbacks at Raccoon have cost the company dearly, it can afford a few leaks, the damage control required, just as long as it’s able to keep a lid on its secret. Its research in viral weaponry. Now, in Beaver Falls, a small city much like what Raccoon used to be, Umbrella is hoping to make up for the research, equipment, and brilliant minds lost to it during the incidents of 1998. The S.T.A.R.S., and the few civilians lucky enough to survive the terror of Raccoon are hoping to expose Umbrella once and for all. And one man is hoping to make a fortune on the black market, with a virus he doesn’t know how to control. This game takes place after the events of the popular videogames Resident Evil 0, 1, 2, 3 and Code Veronica. It is now 1999. However, the first movie, Resident Evil: Genesis, has not yet happened. The Hive is located in Beaver Falls, and not Raccoon. The regular Umbrella employees, however, know nothing more about the situation in Raccoon than the public. Only a select few are aware of what really occurred in the labs in the city and its surrounding area. For playability’s sake, Albert Wesker did not abandon Umbrella after the Spencer Mansion incident. Also, Dr. William Birkin was not killed in the bowles of Raccoon City. The G-creature Leon and Claire destroyed was instead one of the U.C.S.F. troops sent to take the virus from him. Birkin was able to get away. Ada Wong, however, is dead. At least as far Umbrella is aware. What if I haven't played the games or seen the movies?: Don't worry about it, we'll walk you through it and it's not so hard and it's not needed to play them all. If you (as much as we hate to say it) Wikipedia the games, you can get a better understanding of them. Hope this helps! Also the movies aren't needed if you haven't seen them, don't worry!
