Leave a comment here with a laundry list of fandoms that you want to see more RPs of, be it GPSLs or RPGs. The point of this 'survey' is to gather feedback of obscure fandoms, or fandoms that are popular or well-known: yet there are no RPs available for it. The reasons why could be because there is no obvious mainstream interest; there aren't enough fans; or it's considered 'old'.

I am interested in franchises, not plots/premises, ala high school settings, desert island, crossover and panfandom, e.g no one's melded fandom X with fandom B before!

Please do not include fandoms like Harry Potter, because that is a clear example of a 'popular, widespread' fandom. This post is not about finding more Potter RPs because there are not enough Quiddtich games, etc.

AMC's The Walking Dead
Pirates of the Caribbean
Bioshock 1, 2, Infinite
Fallout 3, New Vegas
The Last of Us

Added: Red Dead Redemption + Undead Nightmare
'80s Fright Night
Interview with the Vampire ('90s filmverse + old!Rice book canon)
Alice in Wonderland: adapted original literature
Once upon a time

ETA: The Walking Dead appears to be in the lead. It's giving ideas to me and one of my mates.

I usually have to settle for being happy someone's even heard of Angel Sanctuary; most of the time, it's a blank look. Then again, Kaori Yuki's stuff has some very interesting themes.

The part that makes Howl's Moving Castle even harder is that I play from the books, not the movie. ;_; I love the movie (in fact, I kind of want to put it on now... I think I will!), but Howl and Sophie are both much less snarky in the movie than the book.

You are making me seriously nostalgic. I'm going to have to break out the Rumiko Takahashi stuff next. My fandom list is long enough as it is.

Back in ye olde days of Yahoo! chat room RP, I had a partner who was deeply involved in the Angel Sanctuary fandom.

And I remember fuckall about that series, but, the point is that I used to.

Also; Ghibli films. Spirited Away, Howl's, and The Cat Returns (guilty, fun plot)

The main thing to remember about Angel Sanctuary is that it's fucked up. Actually, remember that about any Kaori Yuki work, and you're golden.

Ooh, I still need to see The Cat Returns. I've been making an Amazon wishlist for everything I haven't seen by them yet.

Fucked up as in, the good kind, or the sort where you want to leave but you say because it's that good ? I haven't read manga for fucking years, but, I keep edging back.

The Cat Returns is a 'serious' movie, but you don't watch it expecting any deep, life-changing development like say, Spirited Away's story. It also helps a lot if you tolerate 'talking, anthropomorphic animals'. The plot's basic and comes off as a 'typical' animanga story; girl gets transported to magical land of animals or _______, drama happens, she needs to escape NOW-' and so on.

Now I need to watch Ghibli. And by extension, Paprika.

Depends on how much tolerance you have? I'd say spoiler, but this is first volume: The hero is in love with his own sister. This is pretty much the healthiest relationship in this story. Incest, cannibalism, religious imagery (basically, Christian symbolism warped around for storytelling purposes, which to some people is sacrilege and others an interesting device), flat-out insane people. It's been a while since I read the whole series, so probably more. I remember being careful about who I'd tell about it when I was in high school, though to be fair, I remember there being fewer shows like Dexter and Hannibal on when I was younger. Maybe my parents just never let me watch them.

I will add it to my list! The animal thing doesn't bother me. I still watch a ton of animated movies, as long as they're not solely geared for really young audiences.

Ah, I'm not into incest, but I can tolerate cannibalism. Anything religious, particularly Christinaity, makes me nope. I'm not religious, but some things just rub me the wrong way, and I can enjoy a fandom more if there's no symbolism for Jesus and so forth!

I haven't seen The Cat in a while, and while it is tamer than Spirited Away and Howl, it's not for young kids. It's not cheesy cutesy ridiculous kid stuff. I just take it for what it is; girl + anthro cats' world + insanity. The main characters are compelling, in the sense that you're not bored to tears because one or more main characters are annoying as fuck or whathaveyou. I'm guilty of watching a lot of animated films, too =D I draw the line at the newer crap, like Disney's Planes. Animals, yes, with a serious plot, ala Don Bluth's era, and the older Disney's. Talking trucks? WTF. No.</del>

I enjoy it partly because she treats the Christian pantheon as mythology to play with, much like people do now with Greek gods, etc. It focuses more on heaven vs. hell, if that's any help. But yeah, a lot of people aren't really cool with it. But the art is gorgeous. It is odd, because a lot of the stuff I'll read in Kaori Yuki's work I'm not into and it wouldn't be a draw in other works. So it is sort of the "fucked up, but too good to put down" category for me.

Depends on the newer stuff for me. I loved Tangled, have no interest in Cars/Planes. The new one, the ice one, is kind of ruined for me because of something I read comparing the original fable, which actually has some strong female characters that seem to mostly be cut. I'm kind of behind on movies and shows in general, though. I just got around to watching the new Star Trek, for example. I think Tangled is probably the most recent animated one I've seen.

Ah, okay. I can understand Heaven/Hell dynamics, but my experience has been with heavily altered 'AU' afterlife, for lack of a better description. I remember the art, and that's what caught my interest back then, but I didn't get too far involved, as my partner at the time had a habit of picking up and dropping Sls every minute.

I've never seen Tangled, one of my friends has, and she can't not stop gushing over it. I think the ice one you're speaking of is 'Frozen' (?) I'm not touching that with a 50ft pole, given what I've seen of it already. It's too kiddy and 'out there' with random shit and typical hero + heroine + masculine steeds and so forth.

You're not alone on terms of old movie news. I haven't yet seen Star Trek #2, or Iron Man 3, even. The last new CG movie I've seen would have to be.. Rise of the Guardians.

I had to watch No. 2 because I have an unrequited love affair with Benedict Cumberbatch. So I bought both of them in a two-pack to watch. >.> I'm working my way through his older stuff as I can, but I've turned into enough of a fangirl to want to support his newer stuff so that he keeps getting work.

I was thinking Frozen, but I didn't want to say the wrong title. And I was too lazy to look it up.

And yay, Howl is done, so now it's time to start up a new movie.

I've met a lot of people with an unrequited-love-affair for Cumberbatch; it's interesting, but I can't say much else other than that I'm watching from the sidelines. :E

Watch Spirited Away! Or .. er. I don't know much about the other Ghibli movies. My sister made me watch a couple of the others, e.g Totoro, and it definitely wasn't my cup of tea.

Oh, don't worry, I think it's weird, too. I don't usually join in on these things. Really, I'm probably not any more obsessed than I am with my favorite author. Scratch that. I preorder all of her stuff and am terribly sad when it's delayed (aaargh, Pegasus sequel, come oooon), so that's probably more obsessed. I just feel like the author's more justifiable.

I have Spirited Away! Also Ponyo, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Totoro. I used to have Princess Mononoke, but it was on VHS; need to get the DVD copy. And I've seen Arriety. But I know I need to check out Castle in the Sky and now The Cat Returns. I also haven't checked out Tales from Earthsea, but I have mixed feelings about that anyway. Really liked the first two books, disappointed in the later ones, and can't decide if the author's ambivalence for the movie is bad or not.

Mononoke might be one for you to check out if you haven't.

I have no idea what Pegasus is! =D /oblivious. The only author I keep track of these days is Joe Abercrombie. Him and his The First Law trilogy.

I have Spirited Away, The Cat Returns, and Princess Mononoke, actually. I like P.M's ..Mononoke, and the forest gods. Ashitaka's a bit... I wouldn't say the character is bad, but I'm not sympathetic to him. I feel I would have a better opinion of him if he had a different voice actor, with more emotion put into his acting.

I haven't seen Ponyo, or Arriety. I've seen the Earthsea film, that was a few years ago and I can remember fuckall about it, save for that it didn't feel like a Ghibli movie. I haven't read the books, so I have no idea what the actual world is about!

And now I need to schedule a small Ghibli marathon. I haven't seen Spirited or Cat in forever and a day. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
