layout help, layout: question, question: html/css

well, i tried to get this question answered prior and even looked more in depth to other people kind of in the same boat as myself but alas i've had no luck! that being said, can anyone help me acquire a layout like THIS or THIS? i know it's likely modified from ~coding but i don't even know how to begin achieving that look nor how to properly embed the fonts! any help would be greatly appreciated!

	for fonts, i usually use google web fonts. once you find one you want to use, click on the button that has a right arrow (if you hover it says "quick-use") and then copy the code they give you on #3. put that code in as the first thing under <head> and then anywhere you want to use it, put the name of that font in there as you would "arial" or anything. hope that helps!
