Wanting her with lust beyond reason is not love. Desiring her in my bed, naked and boneless from hours of sex, is not love. The burning need to have her complete devotion, her unwavering worship, her constant loyalty, is not love. I want her broken to me, Faust. I want her to desire me above all others, so much so that she can't conceive of taking another lover. I want to ruin her with passion, to utterly destroy her. That is not love.

My Inquisitor? She enjoyed the worship that came with being the Herald. It made her feel important. She abandoned the mages to the brutish thugs of the templar order, allowed a worthless order with no oversight to run rampant through our world. Her ineptitude saw too many killed at Halamshiral and plunged an empire into chaos. What power she sees, she grasps at until it is hers. She is no better than Corypheus.

This is one of the reasons we have not spoken. What I want is unconscionable.

The Herald of Andraste, a blessed hero sent to save us all, so named because both women survived being physically in the Fade unscathed. A fair amount of time later, the fledgling resistance to Corypheus became the Inquisition, and the Herald was also named Inquisitor. Evelyn hasn't experienced that yet.

The Fade is a place of dreams. It is where humans and elves go when we sleep. To date, it has been entered physically twice: once by the ancient Tevinter Magisters, of which Corypheus is one, and once by the Herald. In my own version of Thedas, the Inquisitor went to the Fade a second time, but I [...] was not there for the experience. [No, he's not bitter about that at all.]

Perhaps to another door, to dream in the ruins of alien places and learn their secrets.

The Magisters traveled to the city at the heart of the Fade, where humans believe their Maker once resided. They corrupted it, went mad, and brought the Blight back with them when they returned to the physical world. The Herald has made no attempts at entering the Black City, and I would advise her to never try.

Your concern is appreciated, but unnecessary. I am more than capable of defending myself.

	Undead? Yes. The Fallow Mire is full of reanimated corpses. Spirits from the Fade seeking hosts have a predilection for dead bodies. Though their bite does not make you like them. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
