It is a place of superlative beauty and rich history with magic a pulsing heartbeat in every inch of the land. Verdant forests stretch across the country of Orlais, full of ancient ruins and mysteries. It is a hard world, but one populated by people whose very souls glitter with the light of determination, men and women whose wills reshape the essence of Thedas and change it into something more.

Once, I met a friendly spirit who observed the dreams of human girls as love first blossomed in their adolescence. With subtlety, she steered them all toward village boys with gentle hearts who would return their love with gentle kindness. The Matchmaker, so I called her. That small village never knew its luck.

Another time, I saw a young Qunari woman working in a simple kitchen, baking bread as she was ordered every morning. The Qunari are a rigid race, allowing for no freedom of thought or expression among their people. Their people have no names, only titles. In every loaf, she broke the rules. She'd take a pinch of sugar and fold it into the center, like a secret. And this act of small rebellion brought a shining smile across her face.

	There's not a lot of nature in the place I grew up. There's a lot of buildings, a lot of people. Stone and glass and a little metal. Pollution. Corruption. That seems to be a reoccurring theme too. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
