[As promised, the orderly brought him to the phone fifteen minutes before the appointed time, and even gave him some bit of privacy. Of course, Will knew that Chilton was likely listening to every word being said, wherever it was he had hidden himself, but it was something, and anymore, the little things really counted.

When the phone rang, he jumped for a moment, staring at it as it rang twice more, just listening to the noise, and then he picked up, holding it awkwardly to his ear with his hands still cuffed.]

Hello? [His voice is quiet, edging towards something almost uncertain.]
