[Over the years, Donna spent a lot of time in Gotham. Or mostly going in and out of it, since Bruce didn't like sharing his city. With anyone. She didn't know it like the back of her hand, but she knew their Gotham enough to recognize this wasn't entirely correct. It was different. The clocktower at least was very difficult to miss, because otherwise she might end up in the wrong spot.

Donna was already in her suit as Troia and she landed on top of the clocktower, looking down over the city. She'd gotten a quick update from the others, but seeing Cassie was a priority.]

[After realizing what had happened, Cassie had left Gotham. Just walked away from it. This wasn't the place for her and there was nothing there for here, not anymore. She'd almost considered ignoring the journal and just hoping she woke up home again one day, but leafing through it had shown a new post, one she hadn't expected to see.

And now she was back.

As she reached the clocktower, landing lightly behind Donna, she stared at her for a moment, then took a small step forward.] ...Donna?

[She was really slipping, since she was lost in thought and didn't hear Cassie coming up behind her. That wasn't smart in a place like Gotham. But they'd only just finished a big battle and there was a lot ratting around in her head. This was far from her first rodeo. Donna turned when she heard the name and smiled warmly.] Hey Cassie.

[Cassie was the little sister she never had, and she could almost sense that something was troubling her. Call it an instinct. So Donna just opened her arms for a hug, if Cassie wanted to take it.]

[For a moment, she just stared, still only half believing Donna was there. For one wild heartbeat, she thought that maybe the toxin had gotten through, somehow, and this wasn't real. But it didn't matter. Running towards her almost too fast, Cassie threw her arms tightly around Donna and hugged her close, bursting into tears as they touched. She'd be embarrassed if it were anyone except Donna.]

[It came out in a ramble, a jumble of words, muttered against her shoulder as her arms tightened. It was a good thing they were both Amazons or there would be ribs cracking right about now.] Tim and I were dating and he was here and so was Diana and now they're both just gone and it's like they were never here and his family hates me and they don't talk to other people and it's like they don't even care that he's gone and I think they hate him too and I thought I was going to be alone forever until you showed up!

Okay, okay. [That was a lot of information all at once, both from Cassie and related to what everyone else was going through. Donna nodded and hugged her tightly.] I'm sorry they're gone. I'm sorry that happened to you. The Batfamily can be tough, outside of Dick they're always a little cold to outsiders. [She was used to them, the way long experience took, but she remembered what it was like in the beginning.] People can come back here, can't they? They could come back.

He wasn't happy and none of them cared, not really! [Cassie squeezed her eyes shut and let out a shaky breath.] Maybe. But who knows? They might never come back. I don't know what any of us are doing here, Cass, but we'll figure it out. [Donna had gone to so many other worlds at this point, she was starting to think she'd never get her feet on solid ground for long enough. Nothing ever slowed down for them. If it wasn't the end of the world, it was about to be. She sighed and stroked Cassie's hair soothingly.] We're Amazons, remember? We're Wonder Women. Nothing can hold us down for long.

It's okay. We can't be strong twenty-four seven. We can only do the best we can. [Donna suffered through a lot of tragic fates, more than most people, with her many lives. She knew that Cassie needed to get it out, and so she waited. She smiled sweetly back, brushing Cassie's hair back affectionately.] Hi. How about you fill me in on everything else this place is?
