[Bruce really had no idea what he signed up for, but he was the one who suggested they have a group dinner, so he rolled with it. He genuinely thought a group meeting that had nothing to do with Loki or aliens was good for everyone. He was just a little anxious about how the food aspect would go. Luckily his empty wallet meant nothing to the vast wealth of Stark, so he managed to get enough ingredients for dinner to cover whoever showed up. In the end he decided to go a little simple if there were going to be a few people there, and set up a taco station in the kitchen. It would allow people to pick and choose what they wanted to eat. It was a variety of options from spicy ground beer, roasted vegetables and beans, onions, beans, avocado, cheese, and lettuce. The only special thing he added was a traditional Brazilian recipe for black bean stew, made with sweet potatoes, chile pepper, garlic, and a little mango. There were two pots of it, one with meat and one without. Whatever people didn't eat, they could save for later.
In general it wasn't that difficult to put together, the end result probably looked more impressive than the actual cooking required. Only Steve would probably know that since he showed up and offered his help. The extra set of hands helped. Especially with setting out plates and silverware. Bruce found it relaxing, going through the steps. It was strange to be doing something that didn't involve fighting aliens or in his lab doing work. He was nervous, social situations always made him nervous, but it seemed worth doing. And hopefully wouldn't lead to him hiding in the corner somewhere. The invite was out there for people to know, and he brushed off his hands, looking over everything and checking off the list in his head.]
Thanks for the help, Steve. This is the first time I've ever made food for a group. I hope it tastes all right. [He was in no means a gourmet chef. Enough to get by, basically.]
