Re-opening December 1st! About the Game Is that darkness, or is that hope? The year is 1976, and the marauders have entered their sixth year. There has been talk in pureblood families of a 'Dark Lord', a man who's sole interest is purifying the wizarding world of muggles and muggleborns. He has enlisted the help of Hogwarts students, staff, and men living in Hogsmeade. With these minions, Lord Voldemort has already attacked many muggleborns, blood traitors, and Hogwarts. With the increasing attacks on Hogwarts, Headmaster Dumbledore has been given few options. After a muggleborn's death, the Headmaster has decided to lock the school. The Ministry of Magic has sent Hogwarts four aurors to help protect students and screen mail. No one gets in, and no one gets out. For now, Hogwarts has been at a lull - but how long will it last? Many students believe the attacks are coming from within Hogwarts, and fear the worst. What are the students to do? Headmaster Dumbledore has come up with the only possibly solution - he needs help. He needs a group of trusted people to fight back, and so begins the Order of the Phoenix. Slowly but surely these young witches and wizards will be trained to fight and protect themselves. Set in crime-ridden Dark City Treno, dominated by alcohol, drugs and weapons, this place is constantly immersed in a perpetual state of darkness. Heavy black clouds loom overhead, sometimes bringing rain but never breaking to let in the sun. The city has evolved to match its environment; business is shady, outlooks are bleak, and it is unclear whether there is still light behind the clouds at all. Even the brightest linings offer little hope. In the corner flower shop, full of carnations and spools of cheap ribbon, black market narcotics and hallucinogens change hands. The local pub, complete with Guinness on tap, reserves the back three tables for weapons dealers to do business. Criminals of all types seem drawn to the city, attracted to the dark environment the city offers. Despite this, there is a murmur of hope amid the murky despair. A rebellion is forming, individuals determined to fight against the masses and bring good and order back into the city. However, the weather has not broken. With the dreary forecast constantly imposing upon the innocent civilians, the fight is predicted to be endless and futile. Will you fight against the overwhelming corruption threatening to take over this already desolate city or join among its ranks? Public outcry against the acts perpetrated by the organization known as the 'Friends of Humanity' allowed several laws to be passed in favor of mutant rights. That was more than a decade ago, in that time the realm of politics has come to an impasse. Amidst the political stalemate there was a heavy push by many parents to have mutant children removed from the school systems, that ended with special schools being set up in most major cities. The Xavier School could no longer provide the necessary post secondary education for mutants. Ororo Munroe, the new head of the School, and Hank McCoy went before the Senate and House and asked that a second school be funded on the West Coast a University for continuing mutant education. Senator Raymond F. Donaldson, a democrat from California and the first mutant on the senate, helped to push the funding through. Thus the Xavier Memorial Institute was born. XMI is a College Level AU X-Men game set in modern day California. It is meant to be a place where OCs may flourish, new stories can be written and those who have moved to the west coast may begin again. The school grounds, commonly referred to as Mutant Island, house both a university as well as a training facility. It is also the facility which houses the mutant team Legacy. The game is open to mutants age 18+, canon and original characters are both welcome. The game hopes to combine the social and political aspects of life as a mutant with the dangers that come from living in a world where humans, mutants, and things only classified as 'other' coexist. 8:49p	Seems, madam! Nay, it is; I know not ‘seems’. The Other Side is an Alternative Universe Harry Potter game. In 2001, with Second War alumni returning for a sudden reunion, they quickly find themselves sucked into another world altogether. Given housing of their own for the time being, they come to realize that they're not the only ones stuck in such an intensely abrupt situation. With them, huddled all under one Inn's roof, are various alumni from the First War. This new world is an alternative take on how the war could have gone. With Bellatrix leading the head of a vicious group of assassins called the Moraie, she stands tall as conqueror of Britain with her husband Rodolphus and their adopted son, Neville. It seems as if she had a different take on how to deal with the "Chosen One" the Prophecy spoke of. Surely raising him would be enough to cancel it out? So she hopes. And, where is Albus Dumbledore in all of this, you might ask? Disappearing shortly after the crumbling of the Order and Bellatrix's rise to power in 1981, he has been neither seen nor heard from in twenty years. Aberforth was kind enough to take over the position of headmaster of Hogwarts after his brother's disappearance and is hoping that with the arrival of all of these new visitors that perhaps reinstating the Order to what it once was will bring Albus back for good.
