Her description of her own mark definitely leaves him looking a little shell shocked. Lynne wasn't the first woman to ask him about marks, it hadn't been an exaggeration when he said someone had actually tattooed themselves with what they thought his might be. The whole business of it left him uncomfortable most of the time - and this, well, this also left him uncomfortable although for dramatically different reasons.
It all seems so surreal, standing there in front of this woman - he doesn't even know her name he realizes in that moment. Put him in front of aliens invading the earth and he's good to go, but this, well, he's more than lost.
"Can I - " he trails off for a moment looking hopelessly lost. "Do you mind if I see it?" he asks finally and it's hesitant in a way and so unlike the man who had just been fielding questions only minutes ago.
