Lydia reached for the baby. "Well, it's not like I'm going to unload heavy boxes," she said. At one of the red lights on their way to lake house, she managed to unearth a hair tie from her purse and pulled her hair back in a tight ponytail. Daisy seemed rather perturbed by that fact and frowned, batting at Lydia's face.
"Sorry, baby girl," she said. "I don't mind hair pulling in certain situations, but this is not one of them."
She handed over the keys to the lake house that she always carried with her. "You can keep these for the time being. I'll get another set from my mom." At least he wasn't likely to lose them with the sparkly high heeled shoe key chain.
