Hearing Derek refer to himself as daddy was beyond weird, but Lydia managed to smile back. "You're welcome."
While he was gone, she continued her internet search, jotting down a list of things that seemed to be necessities for a baby around six months old. Daisy tried to 'help', batting at the keyboard and reaching for the mouse when she wasn't busy pulling Lydia's hair.
By the time she managed to finish the list, the baby was fussing and Lydia guessed that she was hungry since Derek had just changed her. She read the side of the formula can, fixed a bottle, and had just settled on the sofa to feed Daisy when Derek came back. The girl immediately abandoned the bottle in favor of flailing her little arms with glee.
"We were just going to eat," Lydia said. "But apparently someone would rather see daddy."
