Barry started to chat with Stein after he dismissed his class, leaning against the side of the man's desk as he did.
"Well. That wasn't particularly awful, Mr. Allen."
"You're welcome." Barry responded warm heartedly with a grin, shaking his head at the man while also keeping an eye on the students that were taking the applications he put down. Barry understood why the CCPD opened its doors for internships, but it was still frustrating considering Barry was the one who would have to keep an eye on someone who didn't even finish their degree to make sure they didn't end up blowing up his lab. He was, however, secretly pleased when the redhead returned, and he gave her a warm smile when she addressed him. "It's an interesting field. Less clinical, more hands on. You're welcome." He watched her as she started walking away, his head tilted slightly to the side, and it wasn't until Stein cleared his throat that Barry blushed and tore his attention away. She was probably way too young for him, and just because she was friendly didn't mean she was interested, but Barry grabbed his briefcase anyway and said his quick goodbye before chasing after her out of the room.
He walked behind her for a few feet as he argued with himself over whether he should bother approaching her or not, and he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly before speeding up to fall into pace beside her on his way back to the parking lot. "Hi!" He began lamely, falling quiet as he struggled to think of something to say. Probably should have done that before he stopped her. "Um, if you were thinking about handing that in you might want to do it directly at the precinct, to either Detective West or me. We can make sure it gets into the right hands. If you were really interested, I mean..."
