Charles headed over to Gen’s earlier that day. He was just off another 10 day work week, where he’d picked up so much extra overtime they’d actually told him he shouldn’t the week after. It wasn’t because Charles wasn’t good at his job, it was mostly because the nurses kept poking him and telling him he was married and he needed to spend more time with his wife at home. Hospitals shouldn't be his place of romance. Charles didn’t disagree, but he had aspirations and bills to pay and the money was always good.
But they were right. He missed Gen a lot when all he did was visit her in the morgue constantly.
So on his first day off, one of five, he headed over to Gen’s place, with the intention of possibly staying the night. Maybe even two. He’d packed a bag but he’d left it in the back of his SUV, in case she wasn’t up for the idea. He didn’t want to push it too much if she didn’t think it was a good idea, and a bag in hand might have been a little presumptuous. He didn't have a key yet after all.
Now however, he was laying on the couch with her against him, cuddled together, kissing her slowly as if he hadn’t seen her in a good long while. As he should have been kissing her. His hand slipped through those dark locks and he let out a sigh against her lips eyes shut tight. He really couldn’t complain about this. Eventually when they parted he looked up at her, tangling their legs together a little more so she couldn’t go anywhere unless she really tried. “I missed you.” He said smiling up at her. "Forgetting about Derek Morgan a little?" He asked, completely serious. He wanted to comfort her, after all.
