(Mass Broadcast: Phone, Text, Email, Twitter, Journal, Facebook & More!)

Hey party people!

Tomorrow (Saturday) at Noon PST/3PM EST, 10PM CET (GMT+2) there's going to be a birthday celebration for one of my fellow Byrne students over at amnesia in Ibiza, Spain. This is going to be a foam party, so make sure to come dressed appropriately! Swim suits are suggested attire for those not familiar.

I'm sure the birthday girl would love to see all your awesome faces~ And bodies

There will be identification bracelets again but the details on those are still in the works, expect an update as soon as there's more information to give. If you have any more information or want to come, hit me up so that we can have an idea how many bracelets will be needed. :)

Passports to the ready! xD

Mass communication to school members/students (email?)

It has been brought to my attention that some students may desire skills above and beyond the BLS skills taught in the current first aid course.

Where the basic first aid course covers child through adult CPR along with some basic wound bandaging, and how to respond to simple emergencies the advanced course would cover much more.

Some topics included in the advanced course would be: administering emergency oxygen and how to properly use external defibrillators, complete assessment of current biological standing (blood pressure cuff, pulse oximeter, etc), specific case treatment (intoxication, blast, rhabdomyolysis, heat stroke, hypothermia, hanging and strangulation, convulsions, diabetes, anaphylaxis, behavior disorders, pregnancy), advanced bandaging techniques along with, if interest and the school provides, some very basic stitches, preservation of amputated limb, member/limb realignment and splits (cervical collar, long spine board with side head supports, vacuum mattress, Donway traction splits), casualty lifting, casualty transport and situations with multiple casualties.

All of the above would be broken into two parts, which would make advanced first aid have a part 1 (a semester) and a part 2 (a semester) that would encompass an entire year of schooling.

I have presented this idea to the school board and there is interest on their behalf but they want to know if there is enough student interest to make the course a viable option. Please respond to me and to [Email] to express your interest in such a course, even if you can not take it this semester, knowing students are interested at all (for this semester or for future semesters) will help to make this course a reality. If enough students respond we should be able to implement it ASAP as I have all ready started working on a course plan.

Sincerely,
Professor Victoria Juarez-Morales
