It had been beyond weird, watching that video. Weird and unsettling and a whole other mess of emotions that Claire wasn't even sure she could identify. By the time it was all said and done, however, she had a pretty good idea of what she'd just witnessed. Then she set about trying to figure out just how to tell it all to Sam.
It wasn't going to be easy. She couldn't imagine he was going to take much of the news very well. Then again, if he really was able to stop Lucifer, that would also mean he could fix his own mistakes and save the world rather than being responsible for its destruction. Personally Claire thought it was a pretty suck-filled destiny, but clearly in his world you played the cards you were dealt. And she wasn't so naive as to not realize that, sometimes, there were no easy fixes or simple answers. Sometimes, people had to make sacrifices for the greater good.
She just hated that it had to be him.
Making her way to the Activities Center, it wasn't until she was very nearly in front of the building that she realized she had even arrived. Sam seemed to be right. So far she hadn't encountered a single guest, save one. That, she decided, was good. She honestly wasn't sure how she would handle dealing with someone else right now. All of her focus was on Sam, and the news she needed to tell him, and worry that he wasn't going to take it very well. Which was partially why she had taken a quick detour and picked up a six pack of beer from the local grocery store.
Well, to be honest, that one guest she'd encountered had got the beer for her. She'd signed a picture he had of her as thanks, and promised to chat with him the next day when she was off-duty. She probably wouldn't have agreed to those terms, exactly, but she wanted the beer for Sam and the guest hadn't flirted with her once but had instead seemed rather intrigued about her insight into other events from her world. Weird, but she was quickly getting used to that much at least.
Reaching the doors of the building, she paused and glanced around. There wasn't any sign of anyone inside the building so she didn't bother trying the doors to see if they were unlocked. Instead she leaned lightly against the wall beside them, waiting for Sam to arrive or, if he was already there, to make his presence known.
