Who: Dean Winchester, open to a reply from Anna Milton
What: Leaving Anna a gift
When: This evening
Dean Winchester had made fun of his brother most of their lives because Sam was such a sap. When they were in high school, he harassed Sam endlessly about writing emo poetry in his wirebound notebooks. He never imagined he'd be the one to write a poem. It just sort of happened. He'd been sitting at the table with a pen and a napkin in front of him, and the words had just started flowing.
Whe he'd finished, he looked back at the napkin, and the 12 lines he'd written. The rhyme scheme was a little off, but he didn't think that mattered. He frowned at the napkin, uncertain where the words, or the muse, had come from. He'd felt a little to the left off himself, like something over took him and the words just flowed.
He stashed the napkin in his back pocket. He knew exactly what he needed to do with it, he just had to find a way to do it. He wandered outside, and slowly made his way to Anna's cabin. He had no idea Cas had asked Jo about Anna moving in to the house with them, he only knew that Anna was alone. Her entire world had been yanked out from under her. Crowley had crossed a line that should never have been crossed, he'd torn everything a part, and left Anna with nothing.
Dean had reluctantly left her side a few nights before, and he'd been worried about her since. He was not going to let Crowley destroy Anna completely. He was going to show her that she didn't have to be alone. He couldn't be with her like they were together in their dreams, but he could be her friend, be by her side, support her, talk to her. Crowley couldn't take that away.
He knocked, then let himself in to the cabin when Anna didn't answer. He went in to her kitchen, then up to the bedroom. Anna was asleep, Dean stood in the doorway watching her for a long moment. Had his heart not been broken for her already, it would have then. She looked so small, so sad, so broken. He wanted to take her in his arms and tell her that everything would be okay.
After a minute, he left the napkin on the pillow beside her and slipped out.
