log: scott and ema awkward meeting
Who: Scott, Ema
Where: Dragon HQ at Area 52
When: fuzzy timelines, before meeting with Jason
What: awkward Scott is awkward. Even in the Demon mask
Warnings: tba!
Despite the shrouds of mystery and deals struck behind locked doors, the Dragon division of Area-52 was no temple. It was a place of science first, a sanctuary second and a training center third. The walls were grey, the security was top of the line in technology, and the faint hum of computers could be heard in every corridor. Scott didn't care for the Dragon's dabbling in unnatural practices involving The Gift and that was no secret. Some of the Elders liked to have him be there during meetings to bring a more conservative argument to the table, others outright banned him from attending. He didn't like this new girl who was made in a lab. He didn't like that his apprentice, Hood, was brought back from the dead. These things were unnatural, they tainted the power of The Gift and the legacy attached. This was no secret. Scott was bad at keeping his opinions to himself.
But, he could keep secrets and continued to only work in Dragon under the name of Demon. His superiors knew full well who he was outside of his horned mask, but no one wanted to acknowledge that he was blind. They demanded the mask stay on. None of them wanted to see what embracing the gospel of Dragon could really do to a person. So, he kept the Demon mask. Even in meetings. In fact, he was just walking out of a meeting wearing his red mask and a black suit and tie when he could sense her. Leather, amber musk, vanilla cracked open and red lipstick that smudged on everything he wore. Red, a color he could remember on her, even after going blind.
"Ema?" He asked as he turned the corner, trying not to sound surprised. The reputation he had at Dragon was that of a killer, a leader. Ema had the tendency to bring the inexperienced school boy out of him when he wasn't careful.
