Warnings; Um. Awkward?
Status; Incomplete, threaded.
Arabella was antsy, and ready for class to be over with. It was strange, because usually Ancient Runes fascinated her. It was one of her favorite classes, and she always did well in there. She always paid attention. But for some reason, she just couldn't quite sit still. First she had an itch on her leg. Then she couldn't stop turning her quill in her hands. And then that one stray curl kept falling in front of her eyes and she couldn't get it to stay back. The professor was lecturing; Arabella had read ahead for the summer and felt fairly confident in the material covered in these first few lessons. Her mind wandered and her fingers itched to dig out her journal and add a bit to one of the stories she was working on. But that wouldn't be...Polite. Yes! Polite.
And then her gaze began to move about the room. And for some reason she couldn't quite explain, it kept landing on a boy. Which was strange enough-- Arabella Bletchley did not stare at boys. Especially boys from other houses. She'd known Nathan for a while now-- not very well, of course. She didn't give him the time of day, more often than not. They had shared classes in the past, and his family had even been invited to a few of the Bletchley family functions. Either way, though, she shouldn't have been. Every so often, their eyes would meet and she would hastily look away. She wouldn't blush, though. Arabella Bletchley did not blush.
Finally, they were dismissed. Ella quickly collected her things, shoving them haphazardly into her bag before standing. She was so ready for this break. Smoothing down her skirt, she checked her desk once more and then turned to make her way out of the classroom, weaving through the crowd of students as they left the room.
