Who Miz Deliverance and Teagan Morgan
Where In the tunnels.
What The Hellhounds are out for blood and the only place to go is down...
When Later in the day on the 5th.
You know reactions speak louder than words.
Thought we were past that,
forget what you heard.
Pay no attention.
Better to shut out the light,
than to find yourself at home all alone
thinkin' of me
It wasn’t until she found a place to perch, to take a breath and think for a second that the reality of the situation had caught up with her all at once and fiercely. When she goes for water in her pack she finds that tape Rodeo had stuffed in secretly. She has to stifle the tears that sting. She can’t fall apart now. It isn’t the time or place to.
Every time she thinks back though, all she can see was the stunned surprise of her men when the Capitol let her go, claiming some deal…. and the way Sonny had looked away. Fucking Sonny had done this to her, had given his people her name so he could go on finding information out. Now they were all locked up in there with him without any filter. She hoped they were.
“Please let them be.” She says to no one. She hasn’t anyone anymore.
Did Bishop believe it? Could he ever believe that she would betray him? Especially now that she has his baby in her belly? Her hand instinctively goes to her stomach, fingers splayed as she considers the tiny person that’s growing inside of her. That’s what gets the tears to leak out, they make their escape down the roundness of her cheek and for a moment she’s uncertain if she can DO this again. Be alone.
The only thing that knocks her out of that self pity is the sound of engines roaring toward her. Her crew had been searching for her all day. Some of them anyway. She knew they wanted blood and so far she’d been able to evade them. They were a dogged bunch and they’d want her head for thinking she done them wrong - for the ultimate sin of betrayal.
Teagan had gone from loves to despised in the span of a minute. That was powerful stuff right there.
If she had been able to get to her bike she may have left the city but she had been run off and it has been a game of cat and mouse for hours. The adrenaline is starting to putter out, leaving her exhausted and fearful in a way she hasn’t been for a long time. Teagan isn’t sure how much punch she has left, how much more she can handle today. Where can she go? Austin’s not a big place. She needs somewhere to hide out and rest until she can get her bearings. Then she can formulate a plan.
It is the exhaustion that betrays her and when she hears the approaching footsteps she bolts but is grabbed by Zeke. He has her by the shirt and lifts her to the sky in a one handed display of triumph and then subsequently pummels her against the wall nearby. He yells over to the rest and then finally addresses her. “You fucking cunt.” he spits at her, his face twisted up - angry, hateful….hurt.
“I didn’t….”She starts but all that gets her was a direct hit, knuckles to her face. She feels the skin split on her cheeks and feels the hot trickle of blood pour out of the opening. It wis when he drops her and pulls his foot as if to kick her stomach that her survival instinct goes into overload. She is a mother now. She has to prove her innocence. These fools have every right to think she could want to hurt them but convincing them on this day isn’t going to happen. They’d take her head. Make an example of her. Her only chance is to escape but to where?
Her eyes dart to the open maw of the subway not far off. With all of her strength she kicks Zeke’s feet out from under him, rolls and gets to her feet and books it as the stream of Hellhounds tail her to the entrance. She runs down the steps into the underground - ghoul territory.
Teagan has never thought there would be a day she’d go into the subway willingly.
Never thought the day would come when the velvet darkness of this cold damp place would seem more welcoming to her than the men she had fought beside, had loved, protected and would die for - still.
It’s disorienting when she gets underneath. It’s a different world and their are a number of tunnels to get into. She hesitates - afraid. She hears them coming down after her though, yelling her name and she makes a choice of the four tunnels. The gloom absorbs her and she doesn’t let up running until there are no sounds behind her.
Only when it is quiet does she stop, bent over, trying to get her breath as she wheezes from exertion.
