Jane's private post and texts on 4/6/2019
SENT FROM: Rusten
TYPE: Private Post to the APD
TIME: 4/6/2019, 8:36 a.m.
To the person who keeps stealing my cling peaches in light syrup out of the department fridge: you think I don't know that it's the same person who keeps crossing out "Rusten" on my paper bag lunch and writing "Gigantor" instead? When I get my hulk hands on you, it's gonna look like that photo of Andre the Giant holding a beer can. For everyone who doesn't have a death wish, I just made a fresh pot of coffee, get it while it's hot. And no, before you say it Johanssen, that's not a euphemism.

> Looked like there was a break in the rain so I went out for a ride on my motorcycle this morning before work and I saw a big ass barricade up near Zilker. Looks like Los Nahuales are looking to cut those idiot bikers off from the city.
> Brought it up to the brass and they told me to forget about it, that it wasn't our problem. Talking back only got me a tongue lashing about being made a desk jockey if I kept picking at it.
> No wonder everyone thinks all we do is drink coffee and eat donuts.
> Goddamn I miss donuts.

> With things being so bat-shit crazy at the precinct, I completely forgot to ask how the family dinner went awhile ago. Got your dad's take on things but we all know that's only one side of the story.
> I hope you weren't regulated to being the middle man again.
> You know if you ever need backup, I'm always here to play second banana to your infinitely more capable lead peacemaker at any and all family functions.
> Including (but limited to) a party at your dad's place tomorrow.

> You left a lot of your stuff in your room a the Capitol when you bolted.
> They're just cleaning it out now and one of the maintenance guys is a buddy of mine and knew we used to be friendly so he boxed it up and gave it to me, should you ever want it.
> Looks like mostly his stuff: digital tapes, dirty socks, gross cologne, and a shit ton of huge dusty books. It's like a crusty old librarian's wet dream in my place right now.
> ...there's a few of your things though. That dress you wore when we went to the White Trail that one time, a few scarves, a pretty bracelet, some old photos, and an unopened box of Hostess's ding dongs.
> Did I say unopened? I meant to say a box of ding dong's with three missing.
